If you ever wanted to buy a Tavor SAR bullpup now is the time to act. IWI US is phasing out the SAR for the X95. I’m sure the decision makes perfect business sense, but I also know that many prefer the SAR over the X95. If you own a SAR, before you ask, IWI [Read More…]

The teaser image of the new Tavor 7 that IWI US posted on Facebook had a lot of response and raised more than a few questions. IWI USA have now officially posted the specifications of the 7,62 NATO / .308 Win Tavor 7. I’m guessing the name Tavor 7 comes from the [Read More…]
Let’s begin with the story behind the invention of this product. As with many other great inventions, it started with restrictions due to legislation. In Germany you’re by law only allowed 10 round magazines, or 20 round magazines limited to 10 rounds. [Read More…]
IWI US just posted this on their Facebook page. I called them to confirm, it is a .308 Tavor. The rifle looks interesting. It is like a hybrid between the SAR and X95. The handguard and mag well are reminiscent of an SAR. Even the bolt release is SAR styled. Yet the [Read More…]

Recently, I wrote an article about one negative aspect of bullpups which is caused by their much-touted rearward balance. Even though its scope was extremely limited, this article caused a lot of discontent in my comments section, and many of my readers expressed a [Read More…]
The bullpup rifle tends to be – when it comes up – a pretty divisive subject among “tactical” rifle shooters. Bullpup detractors dismiss the layout as clunky and awkward, while its proponents cite the advantage of longer barrels and shorter [Read More…]

The Galil ACE by IWI is the successor to the classic Israeli Galil that was itself an upgraded Kalashnikov. But is this new design worthy of the name Galil, a rifle that we here at TFB love? Can it redeem the good name of IWI after the Tavor, Uzi Pro, and X95? Well these questions […] [Read More…]
Gear Head Works posted this on Facebook. How about a SBR X95? Is this short enough? It will be 17.75″ when it gets the original slim butt from IWI. About a 9″ barrel. Custom machined forearm, trigger gaurd and IDF Tavor gas tube with an IDF Meprolight. Of [Read More…]
The IWI X95 has a dedicated 40mm grenade launcher that uses the pistol grip rather than the standard cutlass style hand guard grip. This grenade launcher was developed to replace the M203. It attaches by just a single push pin an can be removed without special tools.
Having used the IWI Tavor X95 for a while, one of the issues I had was the lack of a trigger guard. Like the Tavor SAR, the X95 has a cutlass style hand guard that acts as a giant trigger guard. The IDF use this hand guard as a point of contact when shooting off [Read More…]
The history of the IWI Tavor is a subject that has interested me for close to a decade. The rifle’s history doesn’t seem to have been well-documented so far, at least in sources I have read; yet available on the Internet are many of the original concept [Read More…]
