SilencerCo Science: Metering Guns From Call of Duty Modern Warfare
In 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released, and players experienced the latest and greatest in firearms technology in high resolution. Players of the series found themselves immersed in a game with new guns, and not forced to use those same old re-rendered guns their grandparents used in WWII. Since its release, the Modern Warfare series has taken the world by storm. Recently I found myself in the SilencerCo Batcave with a sound meter already set up, and a little extra time to spare. So like a kid in a candy store, I asked if we could meter some of my favorite guns from the Modern Warfare franchise, and they kindly agreed.
TFB Collab: HK MP7 with 1911 Syndicate
Chambered in 4.6x30mm, the HK MP7 was designed in the ’90s specifically to defeat Kevlar body armor. With no civilian version available, the MP7 has developed a cult-like following over the years. As opportunities are few and far between to shoot these, I’ll jump at the chance to shoot an MP7 whenever possible. Lucky for me, Jake from 1911 Syndicate reached out recently about doing a video on this iconic machine pistol.

U.S. Marine with Camouflaged H&K MP7
Norway has a special relationship with the Heckler & Koch MP7 (from Maschinenpistole 7), as they are most likely the country that has bought most of them. If we trust Wikipedia as a source, the numbers are around 6,500 as it replaced (some of) the HK MP5s. Even some soldiers in the Norwegian Home Guard have it.

POTD: H&K MP7 Briefcase
Independant Studio Service s aka ISS Weapons posted a picture of a rare MP7 Deployment briefcase. I have not found any information on this if it is an actual H&K product like the original MP5K briefcase which you can see Rusty’s lightning review here. The MP5K briefcase was designed to fire the MP5K while it was concealed within the briefcase. The handle was fixed and had a trigger linked to some linkages that would actuate the MP5K trigger.

These pictures (below) are almost 10 years old, but I hope the readers of this blog can help me figure out if the Heckler & Koch MP7 was real or fake.
