HK MP7 in Pagani Zonda at F1 Bahrain
These pictures (below) are almost 10 years old, but I hope the readers of this blog can help me figure out if the Heckler & Koch MP7 was real or fake.
The background is, I was in Bahrain to see the new Ruf Automobile (Porsche tuner) factory and their new model CTR 3. The Bahrain Formula 1 Grand Prix was going on at the same time, where Michael Schumacher and other famous drivers have won.
Just outside the Formula 1 race track, on the parking lot, I found the formidable Argentinian-Italian supercar Pagani Zonda.
As you can see, it’s a very special looking car, designed by Mr. Horacio Pagani, and there aren’t too many around (to say the least).
The interesting thing was that when I approached the Zonda I discovered a HK MP7 on the passenger side, laying on the floor, clearly visible.
With some Photoshopping I managed to reduce the reflections in the window and get a better look at the MP7. I love that carbon fiber and leather interior.

The Pagani Zonda most likely belonged to someone in the Royal Family.
As I didn’t want to spend the rest of my life in prison I thought it be safer to go and watch the race instead.
Air show during the Formula 1.
So the question is – was this a real HK MP7? Or an Airsoft version?
Did a bodyguard leave it during the Formula 1 race?
I would expect the rate of crime to be very low in Bahrain.

Yes, unless you can convincingly fake an airsoft gun with those bright orange plastic muzzle devices, I'd say that's a real HK MP7A1. Though I don't know who's bodyguard would be able to get their hands on one. Especially considering they make a semi-only only HK MP7-SF, which this one is clearly not having the third, red 4-bullet pictograph denoting a full-auto setting on the trigger group.
If they can afford the Pagani then it is probably real.
If they are tied to the Royal Family in any way, then it is probably real.
