About a week ago, you guys got to read my take on the WWSD 2020 rifle. Love it or hate it, the rifle has generated quite the buzz in the firearms community over the last couple of years and I thought it might be prudent to bring the designers of the WWSD and KP-15 projects on the TFB Podcast to explain the story from the start of the project to where we find ourselves today. Karl and Russel graciously agreed once again to come on the TFB Podcast and lend us their time to hopefully answer some of your nagging questions about the KP-15 and WWSD 2020 rifle.

Bilson Arms, a firearms and accessories manufacturer located in Broussard, Louisiana, has released a new AR-15 stock called Pivotal Buttstock. The rear portion of this stock rotates around its axis allowing the shooter to tilt the gun without changing the position of the buttstock in their shoulder for more comfortable shooting from different stances or when transitioning between primary and secondary optics/sights.

Throughout my years of shooting, there’ve been a few things that people purchase a number of times before settling on the product that works best for them. Holsters are typically the item people think about but another shooting product that takes time to find are rifle slings as well. Throughout the years, I have gone through a number of slings and found a number of features I really like and some I dislike when it comes to a good rifle sling. The most recent purchase takes a number of features I like in slings and combined them into one modular unit. Let’s take a closer look at the ANR Design’s New Link Sling.

The KP-15 and by extension the WWSD (What Would Stoner Do) have been an extremely hot topic within the AR-15 building community for the last two years or so with tons of people who both like and dislike the concept, as well as its implementation. Naturally, I was morbidly curious about the whole concept myself and I opted to order two of the KE Arms KP-15 monolithic polymer receivers as soon as they become available. However, to my dismay, proper parts dried up very quickly and it wasn’t until early this spring that I was able to get my hands on all the final components to finish out my own WWSD 2020 rifle. Over the time that it took to get the rifle completed several different variations of the concept also developed including the KP-9 PCC lower receiver, the CDR (Civil Defense Rifle), and of course the much more budget-friendly and probably more practical KP-15 M4 Complete Rifle which costs only $600. My personal WWSD 2020 rifle isn’t a 100% clone of an off-the-shelf WWSD but it’s about 90% of the way there with the only real differences being the charging handle and bolt carrier group I opted to use. I tested the WWSD for accuracy and also ran it in a fitting InRangeTV Brutality match to get a feel for its performance in various circumstances. Today I’ll share my experiences so far with my WWSD 2020 and hopefully dispel some of the myths surrounding both its popularity and its infamy.

CMMG have introduced a new line of PDW firearms dubbed Dissent. Faxon Firearms’ line of high-quality American-made barrels has just received two new additions to their rapidly expanding barrel lineup. Charging handles are an accessory I care very little about, if they work, they work and I don’t really put much thought into them outside of that. However, the new T-Bone polymer Charging handle latches from Strike Industries actually add something interesting to charging handles with there being two different sizes (appropriately named Porterhouse and Tenderloin) of swappable latches that still retain the gas redirecting capabilities of the standard sized T-Bone charging handle latches.

FN America have announced the introduction of their new FN 15 DMR3 rifles. The rifle comes with a Geissele two-stage G2S trigger and SureFire ProComp muzzle brake.

It’s time for another Photo Of The Day and this time we follow the Recon U.S. Marines to Iceland. According to the experts, some of the soldiers are armed with rifles with M27 lowers and HK416A5 uppers. Presumably, this is a new program for Recon.

Bushmaster Firearms is proud to introduce the new Bravo Zulu 350 Legend rifle. While the straight-walled 35-caliber hunting cartridge has received a mixed reception from the whole of the firearms community, many hunters in more restrictive states have learned to love it when it comes to filling their deer tags throughout the year for its combination of power and subdued recoil impulse when compared to .450 Bushmaster. The Bravo Zulu is now available from Bushmaster Firearms in the 350 Legend cartridge giving AR-15 hunters in restrictive states a new option to choose from when it comes to whitetail hunting.

ZEV Technologies has just announced their latest firearm – the ZEV Core Elite Folding AR. Designed to be used as a discreet package that still has great accuracy and reliability, the new Core Elite Folding AR will feature a lot of the same hardware that the standard Core Elite rifle does, but now with a Law Tactical Folding Stock Adapter equipped with an SBA3 4-position adjustable brace.

The Springfield Armory Saint Edge ATC is an AR-15 with a monolithic lower. The price tag of the ATC is pretty high for what amounts to an AR and 4 lbs of bonus aluminum, so it better be accurate. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop tests the Saint Edge ATC for accuracy and gives his thoughts on the platform.

Originally meant to debut at Shot Show 2021, the JP5 is a unique roller delayed blowback 9mm AR carbine. Last year JP Enterprises started taking pre-orders for the JP5 production models intending them to be released 4th quarter of 2021/early 1st of 2022. In an update video posted to YouTube, JP Enterprises President John Paul has announced that the JP5 production models will be delayed until at least July this year.

Photo Of The Day and it’s time for a visit to New Zealand. Apart from the soldiers, the “star” here is the LMT MARS-L produced by Lewis Machine & Tool Company. Note the Monolithic Rail Platform. The rifle now serves as the standard service rifle of the New Zealand Army. It’s available in two different barrel lengths, but in 5.56mm only. MARS-L is an abbreviation for Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System – Light. Most have the Trijicon ACOG optic with an RMR red dot on top.

Ohio-based HM Defense have introduced their Stealth MS5, an integrally suppressed AR-15 with a patented monobloc barrel. Chambered in 5.56×45/.223, the Stealth MS5 weighs in at 7lbs 14oz (without a magazine). The rifle features HM Defense’s ‘Battle Ready’ bolt and HM Defense claims there’s no need for muzzle adaptors and no chance of baffle strikes or suppressor back off. MSRP for the Stealth MS5 is listed as $1,995.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews the Bushmaster Bravo Zulu carbine and takes this as an opportunity to discuss what features to look for in an AR-15. James’ first AR was a Bushmaster Patrolman’s Carbine, an early civilianized version of the military’s M4 rifle. The AR-15 and M-16 have been around since the 1960s, but even in the past 20 years, there have been vast improvements in the design and build of this rifle. James discusses those advances and tells you “what’s the deal with new Bushmaster?”

About two years ago, Hornady introduces the new 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge). 6mm ARC was designed to be a low recoil high accuracy cartridge that would still fit within the confines of the AR-15 platform. Since then, various companies have put their own dedicated offerings into the market and today the new Wilson Combat Tactical 6mm ARC rifle series has been introduced. This new rifle will come in two different configurations and feature several different camouflage patterns for each configuration.

Looking for something a bit more flashy for your next range toy? ZEV Technologies is excited to offer their latest series of rifle barrels with the new ZEV Core Elite Bronze match barrels. These new barrels will mostly feature mid-length gas systems and twist rates specifically designed for the caliber that you pick. Each of these new barrels is apparently capable of consistent sub-MOA accuracy with high-quality factory ammunition according to ZEV Tech.

Gas piston systems offer AR-15 owners a few different advantages over the traditional direct impingement systems that the AR-15 was designed with. Chief among those advantages is less heat stress on the bolt carrier group and reduced cleaning intervals. If you’re looking for a different flavor of AR-15, then you’ll be interested to hear that Bear Creek Arsenal has just released their new GPx gas piston complete upper for AR-15 rifles. This new gas piston upper features a standard 16″ parkerized M4 barrel and comes with an adjustable gas block to allow you to tune your rifle to any environmental or ammunition situation.

At the World Defense Show exhibition that was held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia in March of this year, there were a lot of companies that you would expect to see in the Middle Eastern defense expo. Usually, it is companies from Eastern Europe, UAE, USA, Africa, but in this case, one of the best small arms displays at the entire exhibition was showcased by a company from South Korea called SNT Motiv.
