New Wilson Combat Tactical 6mm Arc Rifles Now Available

About two years ago, Hornady introduces the new 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge). 6mm ARC was designed to be a low recoil high accuracy cartridge that would still fit within the confines of the AR-15 platform. Since then, various companies have put their own dedicated offerings into the market and today the new Wilson Combat Tactical 6mm ARC rifle series has been introduced. This new rifle will come in two different configurations and feature several different camouflage patterns for each configuration.

Wilson Combat Tactical Hunter 6mm ARC

New Wilson Combat Tactical 6mm ARC Rifles Now Available

The 6mm ARC was designed by Hornady to be the highest performance long-range cartridge available in a standard AR platform rifle. Initially tested and fielded by US Special Operations forces, the 6mm ARC utilizes efficient, high-BC bullets to deliver unprecedented long-range performance with a wide variety of available bullets. Commercial 6mm ARC loads feature bullets selected to deliver ideal performance for hunting, match shooting, and personal protection applications. The 6mm ARC uses commonly available 6.5 Grendel magazines/bolts.

The new WC-15 rifles will both feature match grade 18″ fluted barrels with a 1-7.5″ twist rate. Where each of these rifles differs is in its weight and a few small features. The Wilson Combat Tactical Hunter model will be 6-ounces lighter than the Tactical Rifle due to its lighter weight billet upper and lower receivers as well as its Tactical Hunter Match Grade barrel which features a threaded muzzle with a thread protector. The Tactical Rifle model will feature a Tactical Match Grade barrel and durable billet upper and lower receivers. Both rifles will also feature the Wilson Combat TTU (Tactical Trigger Unit) pre-installed.

I built a 6mm ARC with a 12” barrel this year, cartridge performance and cool factor is high. The cost and availability of ammo is not cool. Won’t be doing mag dumps into trash with it anytime soon.

Time to design a new gun from the specifically made for 6mm Arc, where it bolt can withstand pressures higher than 52k psi. Imagine this caliber with the typical 58k pressure, still way more sane than those insanely hot 6.8x51 and doing 800 yards no problem while being much smaller than 308.
