POTD: Belgian Snipers in International Sniper Competition
Any International Sniper Competition is yummy-yummy for firearms photo addicts, and this Photo Of The Day is no exception. Above we have a clean shot (pun intended) of two Belgian snipers, using a tripod and the tank trap for support. The Belgian jigsaw camouflage has been replaced by Multicam.
POTD: French Snipers With Leupold Mark5 HDs
What a great Photo Of The Day! This is from the 2024 International Sniper Competition where Sgt. Paco Casas and Sgt. Benjamin Jean-Jourdaine from France fire their rifles at their assigned targets. This is during the “TI-89” event on the Galloway Range at Fort Moore, Ga., in April 2024. It looks like they’re using firearms from their U.S. friends, with the Barrett MRAD and M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System. The scopes are Mark5 HDs from Leupold but with different magnification ranges.
POTD: USASOC International Sniper Competition
You’re watching and reading TFB’s Photo Of The Day with some nice images from the U.S. Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School. Eventually, the 3rd Special Forces Group ended up in the first place in the 2024 USASOC International Best Sniper Competition. The French Team finished in second and the 10th Special Forces Group was in 3rd place.
POTD: JP Rifles in USASOC International Sniper Competition
The Photo Of The Day can be chosen for a variety of reasons, but any photos taken by K. Kassens are usually some of the best. Above you see a competitor in the United States Army Special Operations Command International Sniper Competition, as he fires a suppressed JP Enterprises rifle at long-distance targets at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, March 21, 2023. The riflescope is from Nightforce.
POTD: British Sniper in Urban Ghillie Suit + Thermal
Photo Of The Day and we go for another of the U.K. Ministry Of Defense’s Best of Defence Imagery 2023. It’s difficult to see, but I presume this British sniper is working behind the L115A3 sniper rifle. Do you see the thermal front attachment he’s using? Makes sense considering the time of the day.
POTD: Zero Compromise ZC840 + Special Forces Sniper
Photo Of The Day and we have some really cool images from the 2023 Menton Sniper Competition. Zero Compromise Optics (ZCO) is a company that specializes in the manufacturing of high-end optics, particularly rifle scopes. The company is known for its commitment to producing premium-quality optics with no compromises on performance. A few years ago we reviewed their Zero Compromise ZC527 Scope.
POTD: The Royal Gurkha Rifles – Spotter & Sniper
Photo Of The Day and we go for another of U.K. Ministry Of Defense’s Best of Defence Imagery 2023. We’re looking at a spotter and a sniper from The Royal Gurkha Rifles, during the “golden hour” of photography. There’s a reason why this image was chosen, as lighting plays a crucial role in photography, influencing the mood and visual impact of an image. The golden hour, occurring during sunrise or sunset, provides soft, warm light that enhances colors and textures. The shadows also provides cover for this pair of soldiers…
POTD: Hayha Sniper Competition – Finland
Did you know that TFB has a very large collection of images of snipers from all around the world? Just click on the tag “ snipers” to see the collection. POTD: Snipers at NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia
Welcome to TFB’s Photo Of The Day! Today’s selection features the art of soldiering as a sniper and a spotter. Above you see a pair working together, both with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment “Red Currahee,” 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, as they conduct sniper training at Camp Adazi, Latvia, September 20.
POTD: Italian Snipers in Best Sniper Team Competition
Our Photo Of The Day is more than a bunch of photos thrown together. Ever been gassed out like in the image above? Here we see a sniper as he patrols through a gas-filled trench during the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Sniper Team Competition. The location was the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, near Hohenfels, Germany, on Oct. 1, 2023. I presume it’s the sunlight that gives this special effect, almost as if it was done for a video game.
POTD: The Human Bipod – Hayha Sniper Competition
Welcome to TFB’s Photo Of The Day! Today’s selection features the art of sniping. We get to follow the 10th Mountain Division Soldiers from the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 2-22 Infantry Battalion, as they compete in the Häyha Sniper Competition, Finland, August 26, 2023. The Häyha Sniper Competition had no less than 24 shooting events and tasks to challenge the skills of snipers in team-based obstacles.
POTD: U.S. Army Snipers in Camp Adazi, Latvia
Welcome to our Photo Of The Day! Each day, we feature a stunning photograph that captures the beauty and diversity of our world. These snipers went a long way to conceal themselves. How would you rate their ambition and success? I think these soldiers might be difficult to spot with a thermal as well, and I’m not sure I’d like to give it a try. What we see are U.S. Army snipers with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment “Red Currahee,” 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, as they conducted sniper field training at Camp Adazi, Latvia, during September.
POTD: Snipers in Arab Republic of Egypt
Photo Of The Day – Today we are off to a pretty sandy and warm place, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Mohamed Naguib Military Base. These images are from the exercise Bright Star 23, and all we’re missing are some Pyramids in the background. There are some pretty interesting sniper rifles in this POTD.
