POTD: Snipers in Arab Republic of Egypt

Snipers in Arab Republic of Egypt

Photo Of The Day – Today we are off to a pretty sandy and warm place, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Mohamed Naguib Military Base. These images are from the exercise Bright Star 23, and all we’re missing are some Pyramids in the background. There are some pretty interesting sniper rifles in this POTD.

Below: The XM2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle, as per the label on the rifle.

Partner nation service members prepare their weapons systems prior to a live fire range as part of Bright Star 23 at Mohamed Naguib Military Base, Egypt, Sep. 6, 2023. Bright Star 23 is a multilateral U.S. Central Command exercise held with the Arab Republic of Egypt across air, land, and sea domains that promotes and enhances regional security and cooperation and improves interoperability in irregular warfare against hybrid threat scenarios.

-“Look, someone managed to hit something!”

Do you recognize this heavy sniper rifle? It’s the Zastava M12 “Black Spear” Serbian .50 Caliber Sniper Rifle, as reviewed by James Reeves here. You can also check it out here. They’re using a Versa-Pod bipod. I think this sniper may have been hit by the scop.

Below: This is what I wish we could do back home when building another bay at the shooting range, but we have to pay for materials like sand.
