Our Photo Of The Day is more than a bunch of photos thrown together. Ever been gassed out like in the image above? Here we see a sniper as he patrols through a gas-filled trench during the U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Sniper Team Competition. The location was the Joint Multinational Readiness Center, near Hohenfels, Germany, on Oct. 1, 2023. I presume it’s the sunlight that gives this special effect, almost as if it was done for a video game.

The U.S. Army Europe and Africa Best Sniper Team Competition is an annual event testing the marksmanship, physical prowess, and technical expertise of sniper teams across Europe. During the 2023 event, held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 7, teams from 25 NATO Allies and Partners compete to be the best European sniper team.

why don't they have ARX-160s? Interesting they have M4s. Maybe they are loaners or required to use the M4.

@Gordon Trenchard They were probably not allowed to bring their own auto weapons from Italy to Germany? I can imagine that level of red tape in Europe or any military command temporary duty gig in general.

With the M4's they won't even hit a pizza sized target.

    Pun very intended.
