Welcome to TFB’s Photo Of The Day! Today’s selection features the art of soldiering as a sniper and a spotter. Above you see a pair working together, both with the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment “Red Currahee,” 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, as they conduct sniper training at Camp Adazi, Latvia, September 20.

The Task Force Marne infantrymen provided operational support during Silver Arrow, an exercise designed to test the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia’s strategic capabilities in the region. The 3rd Infantry Division’s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward deployed corps in Europe.

U.S. Army Spc. Thomas Heyda, a sniper with 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment “Red Currahee,” 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, takes aim with his rifle during sniper training.

U.S. Army Spc. Gage Garcia, a spotter, and Pfc. Gaetano Billard, a sniper, both with 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment “Red Currahee,” 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, blend into their environment while conducting sniper training at Camp Adazi, Latvia.
