The 22LR CZ Scorpion Evo 3 S1 Finally Makes Its Way to the USA!
Luke C (@ballisticaviation ) is at Industry Day at the Range with CZ to talk about the Scorpion Evo 3 S1 chambered in 22 Long Rifle. The Scorpion Evo 3 S1 was announced first over in Europe and is finally making its long-awaited appearance in the US market. The Evo 3 S1 22LR is a near 1:1 copy of the 9mm Scorpion Evo 3 with the same foldable and collapsible stock, M-LOK handguard, and overall size, simply just chambered for the much more economical and lighter recoiling 22LR cartridge.
CZ Announces The New Scorpion EVO 3 S1 Chambered in 22LR
About two weeks ago at IWA 2023, CZ came to the show with a brand new firearm perfect for not just the European market, but one that I think would do quite well in the American market! The new CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is chambered in 22LR and will come complete with a folding stock, 16″ threaded barrel, and mostly ambidextrous controls.
New SI Pistol Grip and Flared Magwell for CZ Scorpion EVO
The CZ Scorpion Evo is quite popular with enthusiasts for its compact and lightweight design and relative affordability within the 9mm PCC scene. Strike Industries has just brought to market their latest aftermarket accessories for the CZ scorpion with the introduction of their new Overmolded Pistol Grip and polymer Flared Magwell for the EVO. The SI Pistol Grip and Flared Magwell are now available directly from Strike Industries.
Meet the Redesigned CZ Scorpion 3+ 9mm Micro Pistol
One of the most popular 9mm firearms to come to the market in the last decade has been the CZ Scorpion Evo. While the affordable PCC or pistol has become quite popular, customers have longed for a whole host of upgrades to the platform to make it easier to use, last longer, and provide a better shooting experience. Those desires are now being brought to market with the introduction of CZ’s new Scorpion 3+ Micro Pistol.
NEW RELEASE: SIG SAUER Custom Works P320 AXG Scorpion
What is old is new again. Drawing from classic SIG Sauer pistols like the P226 and the P229, the latest P320 to leave the SIG Custom Shop utilizes a metal frame rather than the standard polymer lower found on the over one million P320 pistols manufactured, sold and issued since its debut a few years ago.
Magpul Announces CZ Scorpion Parts Now Shipping
Yesterday on social media, Magpul Industries posted an image featuring the scorpion-emblazoned jacket worn by Ryan Gosling’s character in the 2011 film “Drive”. They overlaid a date and teased “We’ve got good news for Scorpion fans tomorrow. Stay tuned.” They have since followed up by announcing that three new USA-made Magpul products for CZ’s popular Scorpion family are now shipping to distributors. The new offerings include a replacement pistol grip, an enhanced magazine release, and a 35-round PMAG. Rounding out the announcement is a two-minute video discussing features and benefits, and Magpul has updated their social media profile photos with a scorpion-themed version of the classic “M” logo.
Manticore Arms 15″ M-LOK Handguard for CZ Scorpion EVO 3
Manticore Arms has announced that their new 15″ M-LOK handguard for CZ Scorpion EVO 3 PCCs is now available. According to the company, this handguard “will fit all models of Scorpion EVO including the carbine, pistol, S2 Micro, and EVO’s using the Bullpup Conversion Kit“.
[NRA 2019] CZ-USA's New Products
CZ-USA is mixing up their line with a number of old and new school guns. Traditionally, CZ has been known for turning out classic bolt action rifles and the legendary CZ-75 series. In the last few years, they have really been trying to diversify their line up of modern and classic firearms. This year at NRA is no different with several releases both for modern PCCs and classic style guns.
New BINARY SCORPION From Franklin Armory
In what sounds like the title for a summer blockbuster, Franklin Armory has unveiled a Binary Scorpion BFSIII capable of firing on both the pull and release of the trigger. For their latest product, the engineers at Franklin have come up with a new trigger that allows for semiautomatic and binary fire capabilities in the CZ Scorpion EVO series of firearms, while preserving the safety feature that allows the second shot in binary mode by switching the selector back to the safe position.
[SHOT 2018] Volquartsen Summit, MP15-22 Carbon Fiber Barrel & .22LR Pistol Upgrades
Volquartsen is one of the top names in quality rimfire guns. Recently they acquired the Summit Straight Pull receiver design from PWS. Pete has one of the original Summits from PWS and I was curious how well it works. I was hoping it would be like a Biathalon rifle setup. If you haven’t seen a Biathalon rifle cycle it is awesome. The shooter pulls the charging handle back with a flick of their index finger. Then their thumb pushes the charging handle back forward. It looks effortless and smooth as silk.
[SHOT 2018] Super Suppressed Scorpion From Innovative Arms
Innovative Arms has been making quality, affordable silencers for several years with a focus on integrally suppressed upgrades for customer’s guns. One of their most popular builds, a ported, shrouded Smith & Wesson M&P 15, is definitely a crowd pleaser, silently slinging copper washed lead to the tune of the cycling of the action. Improving an already solid system, the Elgin, South Carolina based crew is giving the true integral silenced platform an upgrade.
[SHOT 2018] AR/AK Hybrid CTMR from Firingline Arms-and a Scorpion Carbine
Adding to the list of “things I would’ve not known existed if I hadn’t seen them at SHOT” is The Firingline Arms CTMR (Combat Tactical Modular Rifle). The Firingline Arms CTMR is a 100% US-made hybrid of the AR and the AK. The CTMR is caliber and magazine switchable. The magwell and barrel are changeable. It can be configured for AR mags and 5.56 or .300 Blackout barrels, or AK mags and 7.62×39 barrels. 16″, 14.5″, and 10.5″ barrels are available. The bores on all barrels are nitrided, and all barrels come threaded. Safety and magazine release are ambidextrous. All models come with a grip from Tech that can be adjusted to 17, 25 and 33 degrees, deeding on one’s preferred gripping style. The upper rail is not monolothic. There is a removable dust over portion that is stabilized and secured internally and externally in many more areas than a standard AK.
[SHOT 2018] NEW CZ Scorpion Micro pistols and CZ's own line of Suppressors!
New at CZ-USA’s booth were two Scorpion pistols in configurations that consumers have been looking for. The first was a super short pistol with collapsing brace called the Scorpion EVO 3 S1 “Micro”. The Micro features a 4″ barrel, SB tactical telescoping brace, HB Industries’ short hand guard, a Faux Osprey suppressor (placeholder until one gets a real one) and a collapsed OAL of only 16″. CZ aims to get this pistol into consumer’s hands by Q2/Q3 2018.
POTD: Sa vz. 61 .22LR
This looks like a fun plinker. Yeh Te up in Canada shared this photo of his Vz 61 Scorpion. The lower is Zastava and the upper is by Czech Small Arms. The lower is railed so he could add a vertical grip. CSA makes a .22LR conversion kit as well as .22lr versions of the Scorpion.
