TFB has been running our very special Photo Of The Day for years, sharing great photos from around the world and the world of firearms. Sometimes the selected pictures involve a lot of action and shooting, sometimes there’s another reason behind the choice. Like today, because when I see images like this, I get really interested in buying another rifle.

Patriot Ordnance Factory, aka POF-USA, is best known for their AR-pattern rifles, particularly their piston-driven models. The Arizona-based operation began its existence in late founder Frank DeSomma’s garage, fueled by his experience as an aerospace engineer, and is still carrying on strong in his memory with fresh products and innovation. They announced a new PCC, the Phoenix, at SHOT Show 2022, and are now doubling down in the 9mm game ahead of SHOT Show 2023. Their newest pistol-caliber gun looks a bit different, however. Meet the 9mm magazine-fed lever-action Tombstone.

The Pakistani company POF makes some of the most affordable license-built MP5 clones. The POF SMG is a faithful reproduction of the HK MP5, but the SMG PK is… not. It’s more like MP5 fan fiction. In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes a look at the POF SMG PK and talks about the MP5 “Reverse Stretch” pattern; a type of homebrew MP5 that combines elements of the full size and the MP5K.

The biggest Pakistan defense exhibition, IDEAS 2022, opened on November 15, offering visitors a chance to see small arms produced by Pakistan state-owned defense companies and private manufacturers. One of the biggest premiers of the expo is CW56, a new member of the roller-delayed blowback rifles family that already includes BW20 and CW39.

Atlantic Firearms, importer and purveyor of interesting guns, has imported a range of collapsible stocks for roller delayed blowback firearms. These new production stocks are made by MKE in Turkey and imported with cooperation from Century Arms. Atlantic is also the source for the CORE series AP-5, so it is fitting that they would obtain these stocks.

The venerated MP5 design is one that has lasted well beyond its practical use and into the modern age. The MP5 has made itself a comfy home in the minds of American gun owners due to a combination of real-world and fictional portrayals in the hands of operators and action heroes alike. The MP5 is simply a near-ubiquitous design when it comes to the term SMG or submachine gun. However, the trouble with MP5s, especially in the Heckler & Koch manufacture, is they are really hard to get a hold of and on top of that, they’re also insanely expensive. There are a few other great options out there if you’re unwilling to pay two and a half racks for that roller-delayed goodness and today we’re taking a look at one of the more affordable options in the MP5 scene with POF’s (Pakistan Ordnance Factories) SMG MP5 otherwise known as the POF-5. These Pakistan-produced and Arkansas-imported firearms come in at a competitive price, and really have great performance to match if you’re looking to scratch that MP5 itch and don’t really care about the roll mark.

At the World Defense Show 2022 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) presented the BW20 family of weapons for the first time. In December last year, the first video of the BW20 rifle was published on Youtube. While the original video only featured a standard battle rifle with a 16-inch barrel, at the expo in Riyadh, POF showcased two other rifles, a carbine with a 12-inch barrel and a designated marksman rifle with a 20-inch barrel. All three rifles are chambered for 7.62×51 and use polymer AR-10 magazines.

If we take an honest look at firearms these days, it is easy to see that now, in 21 century, there is significantly less diversity in weapon design compared to 50s or 60s. Everything we see now are gas-operated rifles based on AR-15, AR-18 and AK. But another major action type, roller-delayed blowback, used in G3, MP5 and other H&K rifles, seems to have faded into obscurity. Until now. Meet BW20, the new battle rifle designed by Pakistan Ordnance Factories.

James Reeves checks out the POF booth at SHOT to see one of the lightest .308 ARs ever made. Per Hrachya H. of TFB, POF has made an “ingenious .308 receiver design that manages to fit a .308 magazine into AR-15 lower receiver dimensions. This year, they added another rifle and a pistol to the family of weapons built on this receiver concept. One of the goals of designing the new Rogue series of firearms was to create the lightest 308 guns without sacrificing the rigidity of the weapon. With an overall weight of 5.9 lbs for the Rogue rifle (16.5″ barrel) and 5.6 lbs of the Rogue pistol (12.5″ barrel), these are really handy guns. When you shoulder them, it’s hard to believe that you are holding a 308 AR.”

Patriot Ordnance Factory (POF-USA) has announced the release of a new series of AR-15 pattern weapons called Minuteman. In POF-USA’s own words, the features seen in Minuteman rifles and pistols are “Everything a respectable rifle needs, and nothing it doesn’t“.

Don’t you step on POF’s blue suede rifle.  Well, it’s not really suede, but their new “Wonder” rifle has a lot of neat features, not least of which is a “Blue Titanium” colored upper and lower receiver.  The Wonder’s standout features are the new “Strike Eagle charging handle, named for the eagle head semblance of the ambidextrous latches, the 3.5lb flat single stage trigger, and the new Micro B single port muzzle brake.  According to POF, the new brake, though very compact, is nearly as effective in recoil reduction as their triple port brake.  The Wonder is 6.18lbs, and comes in at $1599.  The wonder also has a 14.5” rail covering its match grade nitrided and heat treated barrel.  The gas system is carbine length.
