Meet Patriot Ordnance Factory's Tombstone, a 9mm Mag-Fed Lever-Action
Patriot Ordnance Factory, aka POF-USA, is best known for their AR-pattern rifles, particularly their piston-driven models. The Arizona-based operation began its existence in late founder Frank DeSomma’s garage, fueled by his experience as an aerospace engineer, and is still carrying on strong in his memory with fresh products and innovation. They announced a new PCC, the Phoenix, at SHOT Show 2022, and are now doubling down in the 9mm game ahead of SHOT Show 2023. Their newest pistol-caliber gun looks a bit different, however. Meet the 9mm magazine-fed lever-action Tombstone.
POF @ TFB:
TOMBSTONE
TRUE. AMERICAN. ORIGINAL
The Tombstone 9MM is POF-USA’s take on a lever-action rifle. Tombstone is a modern-lever-action chambered in a pistol caliber, initially offered in 9MM. The rifle comes with the same proven 20-round standard magazine, or optional 10-round, that accompanies the POF-USA Phoenix.
The Tombstone’s compact overall length is just 36” and comes in at an ultra-lightweight 5.75lbs (unloaded weight). The trigger is a proprietary non-adjustable design, featuring a smooth pull and crisp break of 3.5lbs. The 16.5” free-floating 4150 steel barrel is complimented by POF’s 10.5” Modular Receiver Rail (M.R.R.), with M-Lok slots at the 3, 6, 9 and a 2” picatinny rail at the 12 position. The integrated XS Ghost Ring sights allow for quick target acquisition and POF’s removable dual port muzzle break is ideal for fast follow-up shots.

One interesting note in POF-USA’s release info is the detail that it is initially offered in 9mm. This would seem to suggest that additional models in other calibers could be on offer in the future. Might this mean .45 ACP, 10mm, maybe a rimfire version in .22, or something else? Time will tell. What do you think, readers? Are you on board with the recent surge in popularity of modernized lever-actions, pioneered by Marlin-modifying Mad Pig Customs? How does the Tombstone announcement strike you? Will you be giving it a try or a pass? If POF-USA does offer additional chamberings in the future, what calibers would you like to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! See you at the range.

That is so goddamn ugly, but I'm not gonna lie, a lever-action rifle which uses 9mm Parabellum has a bit of appeal. If they made it non-tacticool and with wood, and then used magazine which wouldn't protrude so much, I would say that would be a gun with a fair bit of appeal.
Hell, keep the MagPul stock and just replace the railed fore end with any kind of plastic handguard, it's the rails and speedholes which look the most wrong on a lever-action here.
$2000 is too much for such a creation. That's more than the Laugo Arms Alien, about the same as the FK BRNO Field pistol. Both arguably more advanced than a lever action.
But for around $800 for a detachable mag fed PCC lever gun in 30SC (maybe 30 carbine), I'd be spending some money.
Hey Armscor, are you listening?
