[TriggrCon 2019] Dead Foot Arms' SCW 2.5 PDW Brace
At the TriggrCon 2019 range day, Dead Foot Arms was one of the exhibitors showing off their folding stock system. The Dead Foot Arms SCW 2.5 PDW Brace was unveiled at the TriggrCon range day.
[SHOT 2019] Hands on with Gear Head Works' ONE pistol in .300BLK
On my way down to link up with the good folks at OSS Suppressors, I noticed a very awesome little bolt action pistol on one of their tables: Gear Head Works much anticipated ONE pistol in .300 Blk. I gave the firearm a good looking over, and the fit and finish are excellent. Gear Head has been working hard on refining this firearm to sub-MOA specs. Everything from the side folding brace to the chassis to the bolt and trigger felt extremely polished and well made. Keep in mind this is after 5 hours of being shot and knocked around by hordes of media and buyers attending Industry Day at the Range.
[NRA 2018] Gear Head Works Tail Hook
If you are a fan of the CZ Scorpion, the Sig MPX, pistol caliber AR15’s, or short barrel gas guns you will most likely be a fan of the new Gear Head Works Tail Hook. The MOD One is a stand-alone end plate for your AR15 style pistol stock. The MOD two is a complete kit including proprietary buffer tube and the stock with built-in Tail Hook.
[SHOT 2018] Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod 2 Introduced
Gear Head Works has continued the innovation on the Tailhook that first hit the market within the past several years. With this Mod 2 addition, the company is adding a proprietary buffer tube that features five positions for adjusting the Mod 2. To adjust the Mod 2, one simply depresses a button on the right side of the brace, allowing the brace to unlock and move position. This adjustable brace feature isn’t available on the earlier Mod 1 which can clamp to any buffer tube with a diameter between 1.17″ and 1.2″. So far the Mod 2 is being offered in a Tan, OD Green, and Black finish, but I’m sure we’ll see a hot Pink one before the year is up, knowing the popularity of these things.
A Closer Look At The GHW Tailhook
Darrel Keathley has been teasing a few gun groups on Facebook with some sweet pictures of the Tailhook on some popular pistol caliber carbines.
Gear Head Works CZ Scorpion Paddle Magazine Release
The new CZ Scorpion EVO III is an huge ergonomic improvement over the previous iterations of the Scorpion platform. With ambidextrous safety/selector, magazine release, and a reversible charging handle, the weapon is a far more modern design (though I do not know why they did not do the ambi bolt catch/release; C’mon CZ!).
Developments from Gear Head Works
While at Bullpup 2015, I got to spent some time at the Gear head Works booth with Paul Reavis, the founder and current owner. Gear Head Works and Manticore are probably the most prolific and dedicated Tavor accessory parts makers out there. Midwest dabbles in all sorts of products other than Tavors, while Rat Worx’s contribution to the rifle is really only their 9mm suppressor, that was actually made in partnership with Manticore.
