[SHOT 2024] New Cimarron 1894 Trapper Lever Action Rifle
Cimarron has recently announced the release of their new 1894 Trapper rifle, which emerges as a nod to the traditional lever-action firearm design. This latest offering by Cimarron avoids modern alterations such as cross-bolt or tang safeties, rebounding hammers, and angle-eject features that are commonly found in contemporary lever-action rifles. It also comes with semi-buckhorn iron sights, and notably, the receiver is not designed to be drilled and tapped, further cementing its vintage appeal.
Wheelgun Wednesday: Cimarron's New "Nettleton" Reproduction 1873
Certain historical Colt revolvers are deemed more collectible due to their association with a particular inspector, who would stamp their initials on the frame or cartouche on the grip. New for 2022, Cimarron Firearms has come out with their version of a reproduction “Nettleton” Colt 1873 U.S. Cavalry Revolver, for the very reasonable price of $697.34 MSRP.
Cimarron Firearms Master Engraved Frontier .45LC Package
While I personally look at Cimarron’s firearms more as a novelty or a collector’s item, I know plenty of people who actively seek out replica “Old West” firearms for the pure joy of having and shooting them. Cimmaron has recently released a special edition revolver in honor of one of the firearms industry’s oldest and most honored magazines, the “American Handgunner.” The bi-monthly print magazine is a publication that has been in production since 1976 and covers topics from competition shooting to reloading and tactical knives. In honor of the 45 year anniversary of the magazine, Cimarron has released their master engraved Frontier .45LC revolver that comes complete with a leather tooled holster.
Gen. G.S. Patton Reproduction Revolver
Few generals in the United States military have generated as much conversation as General George S. Patton. In many ways, the tough as nails commander was larger than life. Because of this, some of the things associated with him and his leadership have become iconic to casual observers and historians alike. General Patton’s firearms have been much discussed by shooters as has the comment he is said to have made about pearl handled revolvers.
Cimarron's Bad Boy
At the SHOT Show, Cimarron Firearms Company was showing a new revolver called the Bad Boy. This single action wheel gun is called a “modern classic design” by the company. The one I looked at had a nice finish and felt good in the hand. But, what is this modern classic design revolver?
Cimarron's Pakistani Reproduction Shotguns | SHOT 2017
We’ve written a number of posts on TFB about the Pakistani company Daudsons. Far from the rough copies hammered together (although remarkably accurate) in the gunmaking village of Dharra Adam Khel in the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakthunkhwa. Daudsons is really leading the Pakistani civilian small arms producing industry (Pakistani Ordnance Factory is Government run) with their polymer framed handguns. Although maybe not comparable to the common striker fired polymer framed handguns in the United States, Daudsons is a great leap in the right direction of quality from Pakistan.
New Gun: Cimarron's El Malo
Cimarron announced a new line of revolvers called the El Malo. Part of the company’s value line of handguns, the El Malo is available in six variations. Three of the guns are chambered in .357 Magnum while the remaining three share the same features as the first, but are chambered in .45 Colt.
Gun Review: Cimarron 1873 "Evil Roy" Edition
A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to find a Cimarron 1873 Peacemaker at my local gun shop. As usual when I find a nice 1873 clone it is hard to pass up. This particular model is called the “Evil Roy”. For those not familiar with Evil Roy he’s THE man in cowboy action shooting. His real name is Gene Pearcey. Gene was inducted into the SASS Hall of Fame back in 2006.
Cimarron Eliminator 8
Cimarron announced a new revolver: the Eliminator 8. This new single-action wheel gun features a 4.75″ octagonal barrel (hence the “8” in the name.)
Cimarron Firearms, Pietta, and SASS Announce Inaugural Young Guns Program Selections
Now how cool is this? Six young adults, ages 13-14, have been selected for the inaugural “Young Guns” program. What a great way to involve our next generation of shooters.
