The gunsmithing gurus at Real Avid offer an expansive line of tools for your firearms-fixing needs. From their build tools, optics mounting equipment, cleaning gear, and more, if you work on your guns at home chances are they have a product that can help you. Now with an August 4th press release, Real Avid has introduced a new addition for you pistol smiths: the Master Sight Pusher tool.

Bastion Gear has introduced a Glock pistol tool which combines a pin punch with a magazine disassembly tool. The punch folds into the shaft of the tool making it a more compact package which would be easier to store. The magazine disassembly portion represents a bottle opener shaped hook with a built-in stud to engage the hole in the floor plate.

Wojtek Weaponry is a firearm accessories manufacturing company located in San Diego, California. They have recently added to their product line a rather simple and useful fixture – a 3D printed tray for AR-15 gas blocks which makes assembly and disassembly of the gas tube a much easier process.

Ergo Grips recently announced a new armorer’s tool for most Glock pistols. Called the Modular Armorers Stand, or MAST, the tool is a stand system that allows you to secure your Glock pistol to a bench through the magazine well.

Ah… the Glock grip plug. Often overrated or undervalued, its a polarizing little piece. Glock purists will argue that it is not needed (its not) and shooters will argue it does indeed plug a hole and ease reloads by removing a lip (it does both). Both parties are correct, but the argument is likely to continue until the Glock is a mere relic of bygone days and even then historians will make a bigger deal of it than it should be.

Ever had a gas key that came loose? I know I have, especially with some of the bargain prices bolt carrier groups that I have bought over the years. The Michiguns MOACKS Plain is designed to allow the home gunsmith the ability to stake the gas key screws properly without expensive machines. This particular BCG is an IWI that I purchased on closeout and hasn’t come loose yet, but it is a matter of time in my opinion.

The staff at Battle Arms Development with their white lab coats were at it again this year, showing off AR15s you swear are works of art instead of rifles, save for the 5.56x45mm stampings on the receiver. Specifically new for 2017 was the companies .300 BLK rifle entry, VERT PDW monolithic lower, and the VERT stock system. Before we get into the details, I learned that much of the aluminum parts are made from 7075 T6 aluminum. Where most companies will stick with 6065 because of costs, Battle Arms Development commits themselves to 7075 which is an indication of how much quality they want to put into their rifles.

While drinking choice beverages and shooting does not mix well, I will contend that drinking while assembling firearms can be a rewarding combination*.
