One of the biggest barriers to most is cost, especially if you want a quality rifle. Expanding their MSR (Modern Sporting Rifle) line of AR-pattern rifles, Fierce Firearms has released the F-10 Sidewinder, an AR-10 style rifle, the bigger brother of their F-15 Sidewinder 5.56/223 AR. The company markets this new product to both hunters and tactical shooters “who require an extremely accurate, lightweight rifle that provides quick follow-up shots“. Let’s see what features Fierce Firearms offers in the F-10 Sidewinder.

Considered by many to be one of the best entry-level AR platforms on the market, the Smith & Wesson MSR M&P15T saw a lot of success in the modern sporting rifle market. With S&W’s Armornite finished barrel, Magpul MBUS sights and a 10″ free float quad rail from the factory, the first generation M&P15T had a lot to offer. Smith & Wesson is now offering an updated version of the M&P15T with their new M&P15T II Tactical MSR.

Made to fit either a Glock 26 or 27, the polymer frame comes complete with all of the accoutrements that make the P80 receivers so easy to work with, including all necessary drill bits, jig, and more.

In early May 2018, Seekins Precision launched it’s newest AR-15 accessory to bear the company’s logo – the NX15 BCG. With forward assist serrations, the magnetic particle inspected (MPI) and melonite finish make this bolt carrier group a no-brainer for the avid Seekins consumer.

Savage’s MSR 10 Hunter is now available in the 338 Federal chambering. Since its introduction in 2006, the 338 Federal has established itself as an extremely versatile, high-performance big game cartridge.
Shipments of these firearms are currently being delivered to dealers.

What did we see at Range Day? Valkyries, Valkyries everywhere. Federal’s pint-sized long distance runner has already outstripped the market purchase of its direct competitors in the high performance AR-15 market, testified to by the sheer number of .224 Valkyrie rifles peppered across the booths and stalls of Range Day ’18.

The .224 Valkyrie may be the most interesting AR-15 round to come out in years, but the question many have been asking in my comments section is: Cool, but where are the rifles? Approaching the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas Nevada, we are already starting to get answers, and one of them is the Savage MSR-15 Valkyrie. As the name suggests, this marks Savages first offering in the .224 Valkyrie round, and one of the first factory guns of this caliber.

Those eagerly awaiting the market for the new .224 Valkyrie round have something to celebrate. Gunmaker JP Enterprises recently announced that they are now offering three different barrels for the new cartridge, in 20″ light, 20″ medium, and 22″ medium contours. All three barrels use the somewhat unusual “extra long” gas system, which is two inches longer than the standard “rifle length” gas system normally used with 20″ barrels. The longer gas system coupled with large diameter port settings reportedly increase dwell time while reducing the port pressure. More details on the barrels are available via a review from Recoil.
