TFB Review: The IWI Galil ACE Gen II
In the world of modern rifles, there are countless options on the market. Whether it’s a bullpup, AR15, or other type of rifle, there’s a wide variety of options in the semi-auto rifle market. In the past, I’ve looked at the AKM platform and prefer the ergonomics of the AR15. There are plenty of options on the market that mix the two systems together. I recently saw some of the IWI Galils chambered in 7.62X39 and decided to try them since I have almost no experience with them. Over the last few months, I’ve had time to shoot and experience the Galil ACE. Let’s take a closer look at the IWI Galil ACE Gen II.
First New Negev NG7 Machine Guns Arrive in Estonia
IWI have delivered the first batch of Negev NG7 machine guns to Estonia. The contract for the new 7.62x51mm Negev NG7s was signed in March 2023, the new guns will be issued to both the Estonian Defense Forces and the Estonian Defense League. The guns will replace the MG3s and KSP 58s (Swedish FN MAGs) which are currently in Estonian service.

POTD: Ivorian Soldiers with IWI Tavors – Cote d'Ivoire
Once again it’s Photo Of The Day o’clock, and we relocate to the exercise Flintlock 400-meter shooting range near Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Above you see an Ivorian soldier as he transitions into the kneeling shooting position during a training session. Note the strange position of the Meprolight sight. Ivorian soldiers are known to use the CTAR model of the IWI Tavor, with a shorter 15″ barrel. They also use the Micro Tavor X-95 with a Meprolight M21 sight.
Israel Ministry of Defense Orders More IWI X95 Micro Tavors for IDF
Israel’s Ministry of Defense has contracted with Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) for an unspecified number of X95 bullpup rifles. The announcement from IWI explains that the contract will see ‘additional thousands’ of Micro Tavors supplied for the Israeli Defense Force’s infantry brigades.

POTD: Ivorian Special Forces Soldiers with IWI Tavor
Photo Of The Day and we have some frames caught for your viewing pleasure. Above an Ivorian Special Forces soldier fires his weapon at a target as part of training at a range during Exercise Flintlock near Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, March 3, 2023. Flintlock provides an opportunity, along with other U.S. military-hosted events, for African nations to share their strategies and best practices to accelerate the collective ability to adapt and overcome the terrorist threat.
How Good is the IWI Negev Light Machine Gun?
In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves visits with Miroslav, Sellier & Bellot Ammunition armorer, and Tom, an IWI trainer, to discuss (and shoot!) the IWI Negev light/general purpose machine gun. The IWI Negev NG-5 (“Next Generation”) is a 5.56×45mm NATO light machine gun (“LMG”) developed by Israel Weapon Industries (IWI), formerly Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI). In 2012, IWI introduced the Negev NG-7 7.62×51mm NATO general-purpose machine gun. In this video, Tom of IWI gives James a rundown of the Negev NG-5 and NG-7, and James gets to shoot a Negev NG-7 belt-fed in the Czech Republic with Sellier & Bellot.

[SHOT 2023] IWI US Carmel Rifle
New for 2023 from IWI US is an American version of IWI’s Carmel rifle. With the same 2 position gas selector and cold hammer forged, chrome line free-floated barrel as the international Carmel, the US semiautomatic only version has some cosmetic differences that may be a better fit for the US market. Let’s take a look.
POTD: Uzi Pro Trio
In today’s Photo Of The Day, we have a picture shared by IWI (Israel Weapon Industries) on their social media pages depicting a trio of Uzi Pro submachine guns. With the shortest barrel option and no stock attached, the bottom Uzi Pro in the picture is the most compact configuration of this submachine gun. The middle one is fitted with an adjustable folding stock, a trigger guard/front grip, a longer barrel and micro red dot sight. And the top Uzi Pro in the picture is equipped with a suppressor and larger reflex sight in addition to the stock and grip.
Meprolight Introduces Hyper-Bright Sights for the IWI Masada Slim
TFBTV and TFB covered the new IWI Masada Slim earlier this year, both upon its release and in person at NRAAM 2022. The IWI Masada Slim is IWI’s offering to the micro-compact 9mm market and comes straight from the factory with a great trigger and two 13-round standard capacity magazines. Meprolight, a long-time producer of high-quality optical systems for both rifles and pistols, has just announced the introduction of new Hyper-Bright sights for both the IWI Masada Slim and the full-size Masada pistols.
3 Panther Products X95 Gas Buster To Mitigate Suppressor Gas
Thanks to Dylan, X95 whisperer, for bringing my attention to the 3 Panther Products X95 Gas Buster. Suppressing an X95 is not great and there have been companies who have made some upgrades like Manticore. Well, the 3 Panther Products X95 Gas Buster works similarly but is a different approach.

TFB Review: Dylan Trinh's .22LR Conversion For The X95
If you recall, I earlier posted about Dylan Trinh’s .22LR conversion for the IWI X95 Tavor. Well, he sent me his one-off prototype to check out. My X95 is the second gun to test this conversion kit. So there were some issues that I helped to diagnose. While I helped test his conversion kit, just know it is a prototype and has room for improvement. But I can certainly share with you how it is so far.

IWI Releases the Masada Slim 13-Round Micro Compact 9mm Pistol
Well, that was sudden. Out of nowhere, it seems that IWI has released a new version of the IWI Masada handgun – the Masada Slim. This new pistol was announced via the company’s social media outlets on Friday and looks to be up to date with all the features and specifications that other major handgun manufacturers have set as the standard for this new breed of concealed carry pistols. So what is the Masada Slim, Where can you get a Masada Slim, and Why is the Masada Slim?
3 Panther Products X95 TG-C Grip: Cutlass Crossed With Pistol Grip
If you are an IWI X95 owner you know that there is a factory pistol grip option. I wrote a review on this factory pistol grip a while back. Well, almost six years later the pistol grip is still hard to get. Six years ago, 3D printing was not as it is now. Now you have companies pumping out their own parts using multi-jet fusion 3D printing and they are strong and robust. 3 Panther Products is such a company and have made their own TG-C Grip for the Tavor X95.
