Russian FSO, FSB, National Guard Adopt TSNII "Tochnost" Precision Rifle
The Russian Federal Protective Service ( FSO, a rough equivalent of the U.S. Secret Service), Federal Security Service (FSB, a rough equivalent of the U.S. FBI) and the National Guard have adopted a rifle from the Russian company TsNIITochMash, which produces a bolt action precision rifle by the name of Tochnost/Точность, or Precision/accuracy. All three of these organizations operate mainly within Russia itself and are primarily and historically associated with security of the interior of the country. Unlike the U.S. National Guard, the National Guard of the Russian Federation is extremely new in its organization, only having been founded last year in April of 2016. Suffice to say, an adoption by all three of these organizations is a very substantial adoption given the size of all three organizations, despite the adoption being a precision rifle system.
New .338 Semiautomatic Sniper Rifle Displayed by Tarnow at MSPO 2017
Polish arms maker Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów (ZMT) has released a new large-caliber semiautomatic sniper rifle system. The new rifle system will come in two sizes, one designed for magnum-length rounds like .338 Lapua Magnum, and the other designed for short-action cartridges like .308 Winchester. Called SKW308 and SKW338 after the calibers in which they will be chambered, the rifles stem from a program begun in 2010.

SWORD International Mk18 "Mjolnir"
While most companies are now making a variation of the AR platform in .308, other companies are beginning to push that boundary further still by building AR platforms in .300 Win Mag. Then there is S.W.O.R.D International that decided to skip the new .300 Win Mag bandwagon and go straight to the .338 Lapua for their large(er?) frame AR. While not an entirely new concept, very few companies out there have ventured into the .338LM field.
