POTD: Joe Easter - Running & Gunning A KelTec RDB
You may know the KelTec RDB, but you have never seen a bullpup moving quite as fast as this one. These photos were taken during the Rifle World Shoot in Finland, at Stage 19 which seems to have been a lot of competitor’s favorite stage. The competitor is Joe Easter from the U.S. National Team in Semi Auto Standard, and the team managed a silver medal after the Finns. As you can see, the KelTec has been modified, and we’ll get back to those details in a future interview with Joe.

TFB Interview: Keith Garcia - IPSC Rifle World Shoot 2024
The 2024 IPSC Rifle World Shoot in Finland is one of the major international shooting competitions organized by the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC). The Rifle World Shoot gathered over 800 competitive rifle shooters from around the world and put their skills in dynamic shooting to the test. There are only two rifles built so far, and there is no plan (yet) to make any more.
TFB Report: IPSC Rifle World Shoot III - 2024
For over a week, the IPSC Rifle World Shoot III 2024 has been going on in northern Finland. The location was the new and enormous Ruutikangas shooting range, situated near Oulu. Over 840 competitors and Range Officers participated in this huge event, with over 5 days of shooting and 30 challenging stages. As could be expected, Finland offered a match with rifle-long distances, and a lot of free-handed shooting. If you weren’t moving, the targets often did. There was not a lot of shooting on the move, and most of the time the stage was built so that you could not use a support or a long bipod. And if you did, you ran into other disadvantages later in the stage.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #54: The 2022 IPSC World Shoot with Chun
One of the things I don’t get to do often enough is talk to shooters from other parts of the globe. Miles V (our guest from a couple of weeks ago) who has spent a lot of time in Thailand recently introduced me to Chun who was able to participate in the 2022 IPSC World Shoot which was hosted in his home country this year in Pattaya, Thailand. Getting to talk to shooters and competitors from other parts of the globe is really eye-opening because I’m often quite surprised by just how much talent and dedication exists in countries where firearms laws aren’t nearly as permissive as they are in the United States. Today our guest Chun helps us recap the 2022 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XIX, some of his gear preferences, as well as what some of his plans are as far as competing goes down the road in 2023.

TFB Review: Caldwell 66% IPSC AR500 Silhouette Target
In my trips to the range, I have only dabbled in shooting steel. Everyone’s gateway metal target is rimfire spinners or resetting targets and those are really enjoyable. Can shooting a big AR500 silhouette really be any better? I’ll let you know below in my review of the Caldwell 66% IPSC Silhouette Target. Let’s dive right in!
Competition Shooting: The New CZ TS 2 Sport Pistol
If you are a competitor in the IPSC Standard Division (or similar division in other shooting sports like USPSA), there is a new gun to watch out for. The new CZ TS 2 Sport Pistol is primarily developed for this division and has a single-action only trigger mechanism and it “fits the box”. While the external appearance of the new TS 2 is very similar to the CZ Shadow 2, the company claims that it was built completely independently of the CZ Shadow. “TS” stands for Tactical Sports. Above you can see the “Deep Bronze” version, and below the base version.
Ammo And Gun Shortage? Dry Fire Training With Practisim VR
Three years ago, Pete wrote about the Practisim VR shooting simulator. Well, it has popped up again in the hands of probably the best dryfire practitioner on the planet, Liku_Tactical. If you recall, exactly one year ago, Liku_Tactical was flown from Japan to shoot firearms for the first time in his life with his mentor Lucas of TREX Arms. Well, he continues to practice and he is doing dry fire training with Practisim VR.
