[SHOT 2016] iScope Smartphone Adapter
Attaching your smartphone to your gun is nothing new, Inteliscope has their pretty cool system and app that they released a few years back, there was also the MeoPix for spotting scopes. I ran into iScope at the SHOT Show and they had a very interesting adapter. It’s a pretty simple setup, the iScope attaches to most rifle scopes on the market. It attaches to your scopes eye piece up to 48mm via four felt tipped screws. Attached to that is an adapter that holds your smartphone in place, turn on your phones video recorder and start filming your hunt or range day then upload it to YouTube, Instagram whatever.
Review: Ballistic Advanced Edition
This past March I bought the Ballistic app for my iPad and played a little with it. A number of you readers jumped in with comments, and the general consensus is that the app was great, but the interface was complicated and documentation was sparse.

Swarovski's New iPhone 6 Digiscoping Adapter
If you’d like to use your iPhone 6 to record images obtained through the lens of your Swarovski scope, well, now you can. Swarovski is now making a PA-i6 Adapter, which turns long-range optics into the equivalent of a telephoto lens. Simply attach the adapter rings to your scope, attach your iPhone 6 using the aluminum frame, and you’re good to go. Considering the frequency with which many of us, myself included, have attempted to line up our cell phones with our scopes to take a picture, this kind of device is more than welcome. According to the company the frame included for your iPhone 6 can be left in place for protection after removing the adapter rings.
How Many iPhones Does It Take To Stop an AK-74 Bullet?
Remember that iPhone in the UK that saved a man from a shotgun blast? Here’s a bunch of different generation iPhones and a Samsung Galaxy vs an AK-74 shooting a steel core round, I’m guessing it has a tad more penetration than birdshot from a shotgun. Guess how many iPhones bought the farm? Check it out below.
Ballistic App (for iOS) 6th Edition–Worth It?
A buddy of mine that is into precision shooting (and who has been pestering me to get into it also) swears by an app “ Ballistic” (by Peak Studios, LLC). They just released their 6th Edition a few weeks ago, so I finally bit and decided to download the iPad version (it is not a universal app so you have to buy the iPhone and iPad separately).

A neat object but probably not a good idea with how the public views anything remotely firearm shaped.
