Most of us who grew up in the 80s and 90s probably have the name Skynet and the associated legion of 40-watt Phased Plasma Rifle toting robots burned into our memories as something to be feared in our near future. TFB recently came across a YouTube video from user Alexander Atamanov titled “Patrol dog robot” featuring a 9mm AK equipped robot running around and lighting up targets with both full auto and semi-auto fire.

After 2 years of testing and over 10,000 rounds on a single buffer, Rifle Dynamics has released their KP9 Short Stroke Recoil Buffer. It’s designed to reduce split times in competition without the benefit of having a tuned gas system.

Over the last year, the Kalashnikov KP-9 has become increasingly popular in the gun market as a cheaper alternative to the MP5 clones and other AR-style PCC guns. I have finally had my KP-9 out of the ATF jail so it is an SBR and I finally was able to run it as an SBR for a couple thousand rounds. After I spent some time with it, I’m excited to talk about the good and bad I’ve experienced so far with the fun little KP-9. Let’s dive into this little PCC tac driver.

Every year I come to the one and only Russian civilian firearms exhibition called “Arms & Hunting”. And when I am tired of looking at petty at pitiful booths of tiny Russian gunshops and barely alive small firearms manufacturers I come to the “Molot Arms” booth.

Palmetto State Armory has been equipping the frugally minded citizens of this country for years. Since PSA’s founding in 2008, the company has seen explosive growth. This growth is in part thanks to their constant addition of new products to both their online store and brick and mortar stores. This week Palmetto State Armory has announced a new AK pistol product re-release – the AK-V 9mm.

Another regular at Big 3 East is Palmetto State Armory. This year they brought out their 9mm AK-V. I was intrigued by the 9mm AK ever since it was announced last year. However there were some issues right out the gate. Military Arms Channel and PewPewTactical had issues with the ones they received. To be honest I do not follow them nor the reported issues with the AK-V and only heard about them after Big 3 East. The AK-V that PSA brought out ran flawlessly.

As we initially reported in January of this year, Palmetto State Armory is working on a 9mm AK pistol that was initially shown using MP5 magazines. Yesterday on AR15.com, PSA showed some initial prototypes outfitted with 3D printed parts, a folding  SB Tactical Brace and a prototype PSA magazine. In the posting, a company representative states that the 9mm AK will be in production in August or September and will utilize translucent CZ Scorpion magazines. It will also feature a blowback action and a 9mm standard thread pitch of 1/2×36.

Since their acquisition DDI, Palmetto State Armory has been cranking out AKs. This year Palmetto State Armory is going to be making AKs chambered in 9mm and 5.56x45mm. They will have firged bolts, trunions and carriers. They had some on display at SHOT Show 2018.
