For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of the Chilean FAMAE SG 543-1M rifle. The pictures are from Tactical Imports Corporation‘s website which has just started importing these rifles to Canada. Designed by SIG Sauer AG (formerly SIG Arms AG and SAN Swiss Arms AG) and produced by FAMAE (Fábricas y Maestranzas del Ejército de Chile), the SG 543-1M is chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and is gas operated with a long-stroke piston, rotating bolt lockup and adjustable gas block. The price of the FAMAE SG 543-1M rifle in Canada starts at 3,599 CAD.
POTD: FN 2000S 5.5645mm NATO Bullpup Rifle
Top of the morning and welcome to our Photo Of The Day! Today it’s time for the FN 2000S 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup rifle. This is Slovenia’s specialized bullpup, and they are fairly alone on the planet to use this rifle, which makes it interesting for photos. As you can see, they have a top Picatinny rail for mounting a variety of optics.
New Wilson Combat Multi-Caliber Polymer AR-15 Magazine
Among a variety of new parts, accessories and gear recently released by Wilson Combat, there is a new 30-round polymer AR-15 magazine. I assume these magazines are the result of collaboration of Wilson Combat and IMI Defense because they are marked with the Wilson Combat logo but they look pretty much identical to IMI Defense G2 mags.
Rifle Dynamics Introduces The NATO AK
After a small run of custom AKs chambered in .223/5.56, Rifle Dynamics has added this rifle to their main product line due to the high demand. This new product is called RRD556 NATO AK. According to the announcement posted on the company’s social media pages, this project was possible thanks to the efforts of the K-Var Corp.
LFD Research Films the Firing of .300 Blackout in a .223/5.56 Chamber
The Internet is full of images of destroyed 5.56/223 AR-15 rifles that were accidentally loaded with a .300 Blackout round. It is not the best idea to try to push a .30 caliber bullet through a .22 caliber bore, is it? Of course, in the majority of cases, these are accidents that result in completely ruined firearms and even injuries to the shooters. In order to see what happens with the rifle in such a situation, LFD Research simulated it by chambering a .300 Blackout round into a 5.56 AR-15 and filming it in slow motion. Israeli IMI Systems Develops Enhanced 5.56x45mm Ammunition Called 5.56APM
IMI Systems has published a news release telling about their new enhanced performance 5.56x45mm ammunition called 5.56APM (Armor Piercing Match). The round is completely developed and they are already manufacturing it. It is supplied to IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) for testing and evaluation.
