Top of the morning and welcome to our Photo Of The Day! Today it’s time for the FN 2000S 5.56×45mm NATO bullpup rifle. This is Slovenia’s specialized bullpup, and they are fairly alone on the planet to use this rifle, which makes it interesting for photos. As you can see, they have a top Picatinny rail for mounting a variety of optics.

NATO multinational battlegroup Slovakia in action. Led by Czechia and working alongside Allied forces from Germany, Slovakia, Slovenia, and the US.

The battlegroup is 1 of 8 in the east of the Alliance, from the Baltic to the Black Sea, and we are exercising to scale them up to brigade-size to ensure NATO protects and defends every inch of Allied territory.

Training never stops for our soldiers! We’re always ready to deter the enemy and defend our nations. Sharpening our aim at the small arms shooting range today, reinforcing our unwavering commitment to protecting our allies.

The FN F2000 would have been ideal for the nuclear battlefield: You'd not have to worry so much about dismounted AT teams if the environment at the breach in the trench line would give them fatal radiation burns over the course of a few hours.

You could set up your squad in an IFV with the forward eject pushing spent cases out the individual vehicle firing ports, instead of ejecting the cases into your squadmate's face like an Aug would. The rest of the weapon has rubber gaskets around everything, even the magazine well to keep the radioactive particles our of your vehicle.

Driving down the street, the infantry at the back keeps an eye out for rooftops and basement windows where resistance might be hiding until you reach your destination, and then you get masked up and dismount to enter whatever structure you've been tasked to clear.

At least, I think that was the concept.
