[SHOT 2018] Schmeisser and POB Polymer Magazines to Hit the US Market
During the SHOT Show 2018, two European companies announced their plans of importing new polymer AR-15 magazines to the US market. One of these companies is the German Schmeisser and the second one is a Croatian company called POB.
SchmeisserTFB’s Eric B. has earlier reported about the release of this magazine. During the SHOT Show 2018, Schmeisser has announced that they will start selling it on the US market by the end of summer. The Schmeisser magazine will be imported to the USA by a company called War Works. The MSRP is promised to be less than $100.
Schmeisser’s magazine is a 60 round 5.56/.223 one made of glass reinforced polymer. It will have an anti-tilt and self-lubricating follower. According to the company officials they have done an in-depth research of similar 60-round magazine designs and solved many problems associated with such magazines making their design a flawlessly working one. However, they preferred not to talk about the internal mechanism yet.
POB
The Croatian POB brought to the SHOT Show a prototype of a polymer 30-round magazine. There will also be 20 and 10 round options. This magazine will have a stainless steel spring and an anti-tilt follower. The floorplate of the magazine is advertised to be an improved one with enhanced drop protection.
The production of this magazine will start in a couple of months and the introduction to the US market is planned to start by the end of the year. The company also said that they are developing an AK magazine, too.
So far this is all we know about these products. Hopefully, by the time they hit the shelves, we’ll have more information.

I won't be a first adopter but if they prove to be reliable I'd buy a couple. I wonder if they'd be reliable with 300AAC?
Now for the $1 million question: Will you be able to run the Schmeisser mag in your Noveske Ghetto Blaster? *snickers*
