2015 Remington Air Guns

Remington will be expanding their reach with more air guns in 2015 including a new adjustable stock air rifle and 1911 Co2 bb pistol. Air guns fire a metal projectile such as a bb or pellet at high velocities using compressed air or gas and can be used to hunt small game and pests. They are weapons and should be treated as such by observing safety rules, including the golden rule of never point a gun at anything you are not willing to destroy. These guns can be used for sport, pest control, and are also a useful tool to teach children the ropes of gun safety and marksmanship.

Crosman MAR177 AR-15 Upper Review

Oleg Volk has reviewed the Crosman MAR177 .177 upper receiver attached to a standard AR-15 lower receiver, resulting in something that is legally a gun (the lower receiver) but fires pellets using air. It is a pre-charged repeater designed for competition training. Oleg really liked the upper as well as the concept

Stereotypes at the Range

Polenar Tactical released a hilarious video called “Sh!t You See on the Range”. It pokes fun of the many stereotypical shooters one may see while at the range. Hopefully it will bring a smile to your day as it did mine.

Wembley Guns

Wembley is an area within the London borough of Brent, on the far western side of the city. Beginning in the 1950s, large numbers of immigrants from the Asian subcontinent began migrating to England and thus it is rich with the Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi cultures. Nearby is the famous Wembley football stadium and a little bit further is Heathrow Airport. But it also has one of London’s last remaining gunshops and such is the topic of this review.

Gamo Outdoors Releases New Luxor CU Pellet

Many of us in the shooting community still shoot air rifles.  I personally use a .22cal air rifle for hunting pests and training at home.  I try to stay up with good hunting pellets, and their design to see if there is a pellet out there that my air rifle might shoot better, more accurately and hit harder then what I am currently using.

High Speed Ballistic Photography, Both Art And Science

A reader recently sent a link to a site that is doing great work in not only the artistic side of ballistic photography, but is also using the photography for ballistic research such as learning how different rounds and pistols behave.  There are several sets of pictures on how certain muzzle AR devices work, and how different brands of ammunition behave differently when fired.  I urge you to head over to his site at  http://kuulapaa.com/ and take a look.  While you’re there you can also buy high resolution copies of the photos and make your own wall art, or just take a look at what he has on his site.

.32 Cal Caselman Air-Powered Machine Gun (UPDATE: More photos)

The Caselman Air-Powered Machine Gun is an air gun designed to shoot .30 caliber slugs on full auto with approximately the same muzzle energy as a .32 ACP pistol. It was designed by Jeff Caselman in the 1980s as a way for any person to legally own a machine gun, one with enough power for self-defense. In 1990 Jeff sold the plans for the air machine gun for $19.99 and a instructional video on manufacturing it for $59.95. How long he sold these plans for, I don’t know. According to the late Mr. P A Luty, a master improvised gun maker himself, Jeff was never heard from again (although a video was published in 2011 showing a man named Jeff Caselman shooting a prototype air-powered shotgun). Luty took it upon himself to distribute the plans on his website. He called it “revolutionary in concept and design”.

Nerf Sentry Gun

As a fan of pretty much anything that shoots a projectile, I found this interesting. A Nerf Sentry gun is nothing new. Ever since Hasbro came out with the N-Strike Vulcan EBF-25 Nerf fans and college students have been mounting them onto computer controlled gimbles.

Gamo Whisper G2

The Gamo Whisper is one of the most popular break-barrel air guns. Piston-powered air guns can be noisy, the Whisper range incorporates a suppressor to cut down on noise. Gamo has just updated the Whisper and launched the Whisper G2. This new air gun improves on the wildly popular original by adding a better trigger (don’t get me started on the poor triggers sound on air guns), an adjustable cheek piece and a ‘Turbo Stabilizing System’ which brings the internal piston spring to a controlled stop.
