Lancer Debuts New L5AWM Gen 2 Magazines

Lancer Systems has updated their L5 Advanced Warfighter Magazine with a new Gen 2 version. Like the prior version, it combines steel feed lips with a polymer body. The L5AWM Gen 2 offers updated feed lip geometry and refined design compared to the original.

    Mags @ TFB:

Other changes include a revised floorplate locking system and improved stacking of rounds in the magazine. This improved design offers 22% less force to insert a magazine on a closed bolt. The enhanced L5AWM Gen 2 was tested against the DOD drop test standard, and Lancer claims that it lasted 122% longer than any competitor.

Lancer offers three capacity options, with 30, 20, and 10-round versions available. All three capacities come in 5.56 or 300 Blackout models. The 30-rounders are available now, with the 20-round coming in June and 10-round in September.

In addition to the capacity and caliber options, there are a range of color choices including translucent clear, translucent smoke, translucent FDE, opaque black, and opaque FDE. Perhaps we will see non-tactical colors in the future as well.
