    Texas Weapon Systems, a company known for designing and manufacturing AK upgrade parts, have introduced a new series of AK-pattern rifles called IK-100 that are built with extensive use of their parts. Currently, there is only one rifle in the IK-100 series – the IK-103. Let’s take a look at the specs and features of this new rifle.

    Setting out to build the greatest AK ever has led us here, the IK-100 series. The IK, or Improved Kalashnikov, series of rifles are the pinnacle of the AK platform. The IK-100 series’ suite of modernizations brings the AK platform into the 21st century, with unparalleled modularity and adjustability giving you the fighting edge you need to come out on top.

    Texas Weapon Systems IK-103 rifle is built on a Sharps Bros MB-47 milled receiver and is chambered in 7.62x39mm. The 16.1″ TWS profile barrel is made of 4140 chrome moly steel, has a 1:9.5″ twist rate, chrome lined bore, 5/8×24 muzzle threads and comes with an A2 birdcage style flash hider installed. The TWS gas block is adjustable with six settings including one that completely shuts off the gas port, three suppressor settings, as well as normal use and adverse condition modes. The IK-103 rifle is fitted with an AR-15 receiver extension for attaching AR stocks. The rifle comes with a Magpul CTR stock and a Hogue pistol grip. The trigger is from CMC and has a 4.5 lb pull weight. The safety is a Krebs Custom enhanced selector lever. Other TWS parts used in the IK-103 rifle include the Gen3 Dog Leg railed receiver cover, Gen3 Flat Top extended handguard and Hob Knob enhanced charging handle. The MSRP of the Texas Weapon Systems IK-103 rifle is $2,300.
