POTD: French Snipers with PGM Hécate II

TFB’s Photo Of The Day is where you can discover the world of firearms through a camera lens. Every day we run a new theme, selected pictures, a short story and credit to the person behind the lens. Today we have some HOT images of French snipers and spotters from the 35e régiment d’infanterie.

– 4th company – Last week as part of an operational preparation, The Scorpions were present in Mourmelon to carry out shootings and various exercises.

The PGM Hécate II is the standard heavy sniper rifle and anti-materiel rifle of the French Armed Forces, in caliber .50 BMG / 12.7 mm.

“When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence.”
– Ansel Adams

These look like state-of-the-art Hensoldt spotters. I wish I had one.

Make sure you wear your camo and your bright blue mask to lay in a field...

The scope was recently replaced by a modern Steiner M5Xi 5-25x56, unfortunately not in the pictures posted.
