SilencerCo Releases The New SCO15 Upper Receiver

SilencerCo Announces the Release of the new SCO15 Upper Receiver

SilencerCo is proud to announce the introduction of their new premium AR-15 stripped upper receiver, the SCO15. The SCO15 Upper Receiver is made from 7075 billet aluminum and features full mil-spec compatibility to match with the already existing SCO15 lower receiver so that customers can have an all-SilencerCo receiver set for their AR-15 build. SilencerCo normally specializes in the manufacturing of suppressors but in recent years the company has come out with a number of other firearms-related products like the aforementioned SCO15 components as well as the very unique Maxim 9 9mm pistol.

    Product Specifications:

    • Made from billet 7075 aluminum
    • Mil-spec 1913 picatinny rail
    • Type III hardcoat anodized
    • Compatible with mil-spec forward assist and dust cover (not included)
    • MSRP of $219.00

SilencerCo’s own brand of AR-15 upper will still have standard features like an M1913 Picatinny rail, M4 feed ramps, and a forward assist. However, the SilencerCo SCO15 has a much more angular design to it compared with standard AR-15 upper receivers and also features a much larger brass deflector than other models of upper receivers that I have seen.

One of the biggest draws for matching receiver sets, in my opinion, is the lack of side-to-side wobble you get in return. The solid nature of most receiver sets inspires more confidence in your build even if it has nothing to do with the accuracy of your firearm. I will be looking forward to seeing these SCO15 receiver parts in action to see if they really do play well with other mil-spec parts currently on the market. Other manufacturers of “premium” billet stripped upper receivers tend to sell their product for about the $150 mark, we will have to see how the market reacts to a component with an MSRP that is well north of that. What are your throughs on this new upper receiver offering from SilencerCo? Thoughts and comments are welcome down below as always!
