POTD: Austrian Special Forces Sniper with HK417P and ZC527

    HK417P Sniper Austria

In 2019 TFB were the first to discover the new Heckler & Koch HK417P model. To the best of our knowledge, this is the rifle we’re looking at in the front row. The HK417P was made for Austria and is a combination of the HK417 assault rifle and G28 precision rifle. It is a semi-automatic only rifle.

    The original caption reads:

An Austrian Special Forces Sniper fires an HK417 A2 Recon Rifle at paper targets downrage at the International Specialty Training Center (ISTC) Alpine Sniper Course, in Hochfilzen training area, Austria, September 24th, 2021.The Alpine Sniper Course lasts two weeks and is designed to teach and train sniper teams the necessary skills to operate in mountainous terrain.

The riflescope is the Zero Compromise ZC527 in a Spuhr QDP-6002 quick-detachable mount. TFB reviewed a very similar setup last year. Read all about it here: Zero Compromise ZC527 Scope and Spuhr SP-6602 Mount. Take a look at the differences between the Spuhr mount and the other mounts further back in the shooting line. The bipod is the B&T Industries Atlas Bipods.

There have been a lot of rumors about military contracts for Zero Compromise, this may be one of them? Note the cap worn by the sniper.

Below: An Austrian Special Forces Sniper runs to the firing line during a stress shoot exercise. When you’re shooting groups, do you ever run or exercise and see what it does to your accuracy?

    The scenery is amazing.
