B&T Signs Interstate Arms as a National Law Enforcement Distributor
B&T, Inc. (Brügger & Thomet) are the creators of the B&T GHM9 that TFBTV covered at Triggercon earlier this year. B&T has just announced its new partnership with Interstate Arms in a bid to bring B&T firearms and select accessories to America’s law enforcement agencies. In addition to supplying the country’s law enforcement with their arms, B&T and Interstate Arms are seeking to increase B&Ts brand presence in this segment of the market.
Below is an excerpt from their press release.
“Since winning the US Army’s Sub Compact Weapon contract, demand and interest from the domestic law enforcement market has soared. Expanding our LE distributor network is integral to placing our premier platforms into the hands of our homelands protectors” stated Tim Nickler, President and CEO of B&T USA.
“With nearly 20 years of experience supporting those who wear blue, we have been closely monitoring and assessing the buying habits and market trends that departments are currently experiencing,” said Rich Nutile, Law Enforcement Sales/Branch Manager at Interstate Arms. “We see a huge potential for agencies to shift from rifles to the more compact and versatile 9mm platform. With the APC9K winning its recent military contract, it is very apparent B&T will be an industry leader in this rapidly growing sector.
Interstate Arms
Interstate Arms has been in business for well over half a century as a wholesale distributor. They supply FFL’s with arms and accessories as a staple of their business. On top of that, Interstate arms are at the forefront of law enforcement distribution boasting coast to coast coverage while offering agencies with a wide variety of arms and accessories to choose from.
A big Market
There are approximately 18,000 law enforcement agencies in the United States ranging from federal, state, and local police with more than 1.1 million people employed. There are around 12,000 local law enforcement agencies, obviously the biggest out of the three types. With those kinds of numbers, it’s no wonder B&T is seeking to enhance their presence. Keep watch to see how this new merger with Interstate arms pans out for the Swiss company in the American law-enforcement market.

That’s like 1 out of every 300 people.
It’s almost like some rich people/big companies built/bought prisons, then lobbied/bribed a crooked government to make sure those prisons stay full by passing all kinds of immoral, unconstitutional, and illogical laws that take focus away from old-fashioned crimes with actual victims, all requiring more resources to be diverted to law enforcement, and it resulted in the largest prison population in the world AND the highest per capita incarceration rate. And that is really fúcked up when you consider that we’re one of, if not the most developed/civilized countries, a country that was built on the concept of freedom and is supposedly still dedicated to it.
So pardon me if I’m absolutely disgusted by another company lining up to supply weapons and fill their pockets.
Not too much of a market for sub guns for Law Enforcement nowadays. I know my agency, and all others in my region, are pretty well invested in short barreled rifles for our SWAT units. Not that I'd object if they gave me one, but I'm just not sure what niche it fills for me when I already have a pistol and a rifle.
