You can get a gun in India, with enough money and people in yuor pocket. Air rifles are common, and the sport is growing fast, especially after Indias Gold Medal in shooting at the last Olympics.

Most guns will be antiques or shotguns for hunting. Once in a while you come across a rifle or handgun people use for target shooting. Any club or area where it’s legal to shoot will cost people ridiculous amounts of money.

In rural areas, old British Enfields, Sten’s, Sterlings etc. are common for defense against wildlife, bandits and such.

WTF was that last bit of the clip ” the bayonet dance” ? – dazzle em with your hot dancefloor moves, then while they stand there and stare in raptuous wonder… stab em and then shake about and scream like a banshee afterwards.

    Just Damn!

Are you sure about that because an Indian posters told us otherwise. They have strict gun control laws over there. That’s why I asked the question.

Are these trainers military or police officers (paramilitary) because their uniform suggested that they either one of the two. Both are paid by the government one is military and the other paramilitary. In other words they have the blessing of the government.

Although embarrassing propaganda. The indians are making a statement in that they can more easily put a rifle in the hands of hindu/indian women to defend themselves with, than the muslims. And that these young girls are sufficient to combat armed muslims/criminals/militants.

Sort of like a veiled insult.

C.J. Chivers in his book The Gun writes that Russian kids get the four R’s, the last being rifle. The Kalashnikov being the rifle. They field strip and reassemble it in classroom competition, the best in the book published as done in 26 seconds. The sad downside is the child soldier aspect mentioned above and by Chivers regarding child soldiers in Africa.

Yup, the “AK’s” pictured are the export version Romanian PM md. 90 with the push button folding stock, and the rest are of course the legendary and infamous INSAS Standard rifle – perhaps the only AK variant the has issues with reliability.

The bayonet demo at the conclusion, however, rivals the drill display led by Bill Murray in “Stripes”.

“Hindu radical” is an oxymoron. There are anarchists, terrorists, criminals, and general riot-causers, but there religion shouldn’t really be annotated to that. The attacks on Churches as just as shameful to Hindus as 9/11 was to Muslims.

But the point here is country v. country. Religion, here anyways, has absolutely nothing to do with it. I don’t see how India has nearly as much blood on it’s hands on the matter. Indias position on Kashmir has been defensive.

Not to say India hasn’t tried to shut down terrorists operations across the border. They have. The Kargil War speaks for itself.

But I do think you’re bringing up another matter. The Hindu-Muslim riots in Gujurat in 2002 was initiated by both sides, and both sides were affected equally.
