The CVA Cascade SR-80 is here, offering shooters a scout rifle take on the company’s bolt-action platform. Although CVA is best known for its black powder offerings, it also manufactures centerfire arms. In 2019, it debuted the Cascade bolt-action rifle, and it’s been updating the lineup ever since. In 2021, we got the Cascade in 350 Legend, to take advantage of growing opportunities for hunters with straight-wall rifle cartridges. In 2022, we got the Cascade XT, built for precision shooting and hunters looking for long-range performance, with a fluted barrel, muzzle brake and enlarged bolt knob. In 2024 we are getting the SR-80, for shooters who want an all-round bolt-action built on the scout rifle pattern.

Federal Ammunition introduced the FireStick muzzleloading ammunition system at SHOT Show 2020. In firearms utilizing this technology, the projectile is still loaded down the muzzle but the propellant is sealed in a shotshell-like polymer capsule which is loaded through the breech end of the barrel and is primed with a 209 shotgun primer. CVA have just announced the release of their new Crossfire break action muzzleloading rifle that uses the FireStick system. Let’s take a closer look at the CVA Crossfire muzzleloader and Federal FireStick ammunition.

Bergara sister company CVA continues to roll out new bolt action rifles and muzzleloaders. Their new Cascade XT and Paramount Pro V2 were both present at Industry Day At The Range of SHOT Show 2023.

CVA have added another model to their Cascade line of bolt action rifles. The new Cascade XT (X-Treme) is advertised as a precision-oriented version of the Cascade and a multiple-purpose rifle for hunters. The difference between the Cascade XT and other rifles in this family is that the new rifle features an enlarged bolt knob and a fluted barrel that comes equipped with a muzzle brake.

Bergara and CVA (a sister company) released new models in their lineups of bolt action rifles. Bergara has three new models in their Premier series, which is their higher-tier product line. The MgLite pairs Bergara’s new line of Cure carbon fiber wrapped barrels with a magnesium XLR Element chassis. This combination makes for a chassis rifle weighing less than 7 pounds.
