[SHOT 2022] New Rifles From Bergara and CVA
Bergara and CVA (a sister company) released new models in their lineups of bolt action rifles. Bergara has three new models in their Premier series, which is their higher-tier product line. The MgLite pairs Bergara’s new line of Cure carbon fiber wrapped barrels with a magnesium XLR Element chassis. This combination makes for a chassis rifle weighing less than 7 pounds.

MgLite rifle with XLR Element magnesium chassis and Bergara Cure barrel
Also joining the Premier lineup is the Divide rifle. The Divide is essentially a Premier HMR Pro on a diet. A Cure carbon fiber barrel has replaced the standard steel barrel, and an AG Composites Chalk Branch stock replaced the standard HMR adjustable stock. These changes result in a weight savings of over 2 pounds compared to the HMR Pro.

Bergara Premier Divide rifle
Rounding out the Bergara releases is the new Canyon. It has a traditional fluted steel barrel for weight savings and an AG Composites carbon fiber stock. Unlike other ultralight hunting rifles, the Canyon still has AICS magazine compatibility in most calibers.

Bergara Premier Canyon rifle
CVA introduced their Cascade series of bolt actions a few years ago. Now, a “Short Barrel” model has been added to the lineup. The SB models have shorter, threaded barrels intended for suppressor use. Metal parts are finished in black Cerakote and the stock is finished in Veil Tac Black camouflage.
