A Return to Form: The Munitionworks J.O.E. Carbine MK2
The original Munitionworks J.O.E. Carbine has been featured before here on TFBTV. Hop praised it as being a “template for customization” meaning it featured core components that were solid, reliable, and functional, and left enough room in the budget for you to make the rifle your own. Today Munitionworks is proud to announce the introduction of the J.O.E. Carbine MK2.
Caveman Spark AR-15 Crush Washers That Change Color When Hot
Earlier this year, Caveman LLC introduced a series of crush washers for AR-15s that change to bright colors when the barrel starts to heat up past 131 degrees F (55 degrees C). Caveman states that the intended idea behind their Spark AR-15 Crush Washers is to warn shooters when the barrel is too hot to touch or store, and at which point accuracy might start to decline, thus changing from black to one of four bright colors. The new Spark AR-15 Crush Washers are available in white, orange, green, and purple. Caveman LLC’s description can be read below.

Today, February 23rd, 2021 is an exciting excuse to go over one of the most popular and even disputed cartridges in North America. The .223 Remington cartridge designed all the way back in 1957. This lovable 22 caliber cartridge is a regular mainstay whether it is used for varmint hunting like coyotes to prairie dogs or even a valuable asset in a prepper’s back stock of ammunition. Regardless of how you may feel about the distinguished .223 Remington today, we at The Firearm Blog thought it would be an excellent reason to shed some light on the history and some facts about the good old .223 Remington. Are Iron Sights Still Functional? – Why People Should Know How to Shoot Irons
In today’s modern society, there are a million different choices of red dots, LPVO’s and countless other optics to choose from. With an endless amount of choice when picking out an optic, most people don’t even consider running iron sights anymore as their main set up. There’s still a rather large market for back up iron sights in the AR15 market but the majority won’t use them. I think it’s strange that younger shooters my age will purchase a set of expensive iron sights but not train or even zero them.
TFB 6 Month Review – The PWS MK116 MOD 2-M
Over the last 6 months, I’ve run the Primary Weapons Systems as my main rifle and it’s been an interesting ride. When I first started looking at PWS line up of guns, I was really curious how the long stroke gas piston system worked so I ordered the MK116 MOD 2-M rifle. The rifle may look like an AR-15 but apart from looks, the gun is almost entirely different from your standard AR rifle.
Strike Industries Introduces Safety Selector Switch Stickers
Strike Industries have released a new range of safety selector switch stickers to spice up your AR’s lower. The stickers include simple text like “Hard – Safe – Fast”, to more pictorial options including the tortoise and the hare, one based on mild and hot chillipeper warnings and even a ‘pew pew’ sticker.
Safety Check: Keeping AR Calibers Separate
It’s almost become commonplace to hear a story about a 300 Blackout round finding its way into a 5.56 AR pattern rifle (or vise versa). It seems like this stories have become almost routine to hear among AR enthusiasts, a group that often owns both calibers. Now as most of you already know, this is an easy mistake to make. Both rounds were designed to use the same magazine, making it easy to slip in the wrong round when you’re not looking.
New "Blue Book" Dedicated to the AR-15 Slated for Publication
Dog-eared copies of the Blue Book of Gun Values are a mainstay at gun shows. Everyone has a copy and some of us even have a collection of them. Each year, a new and revised edition is released. The 2018 iteration boasts more than 2,500 pages of information.
With so much info to cram between two covers, you can’t do justice to every topic. There’s simply no space for a deep dive. That’s why Blue Book Publications offers specialized pocket guides, and editions just focused on air guns, modern black powder arms, and antique American arms. Now, there’s a new title being added to the lineup!

Brigand Arms Releases Lightweight Carbon Black Pistol Grip
As Seen at SHOT Show 2018 – Weighing 1.9 oz, the Carbon Black Pistol Grip’s weight is barely noticeable, even on lightweight builds (compare to the Magpul MOE+ Grip at 3.4 ounces). Dozens of mold iterations have produced a stable, tactile grip that is incredibly lightweight. The molded surfaces are designed to support the palm, not thumb web, for repeatable trigger pulls.
