Today we’ll take a look at the 16-inch Bear Creek Arsenal BC-15 upper receiver fitted with their Cold Hammer Forged (CHF) barrel  I used this upper with a number of different optics and various types of 5.56x45mm NATO loads, so let’s take a look at how it did.

Earlier this year, Caveman LLC introduced a series of crush washers for AR-15s that change to bright colors when the barrel starts to heat up past 131 degrees F (55 degrees C). Caveman states that the intended idea behind their Spark AR-15 Crush Washers is to warn shooters when the barrel is too hot to touch or store, and at which point accuracy might start to decline, thus changing from black to one of four bright colors. In today’s modern society, there are a million different choices of red dots, LPVO’s and countless other optics to choose from. With an endless amount of choice when picking out an optic, most people don’t even consider running iron sights anymore as their main set up. Strike Industries have released a new range of safety selector switch stickers to spice up your AR’s lower.
