IWI Goes Large Frame With The New Zion-25

IWI’s spate of new releases includes a large-frame AR. The Zion-25 comes in a variety of barrel lengths and both .308 Winchester and 6.5 Creedmoor. But unlike many competitor firearms, the Zion-25 series has an Armalite-style slant cut receiver.

The Zion-25 series includes Timney two-stage triggers and Arca-compatible handguards for easy tripod mounting. B-5 stocks and pistol grips come standard. IWI was thinking a little out of the box with the gas system lengths. The 18-inch model has a rifle-length gas system, the 16-inch gun has an intermediate gas system, and the 20- and 22-inch guns have rifle +2” gas tubes. The barrels are 4150 steel with a nitride finish, with 1/8 twist rifling on the 6.5 Creedmoor models and 1/10 twist on the .308 guns.
