AO-22M Experimental Soviet Lightweight General Purpose Machine Gun
As the trend moves towards lighter and lighter machine guns, covering the AO-22M is a must, as it is one of the lightest 7.62x54 experimental machine guns. The AO-22M is one of the lesser-known Soviet experimental machine guns, and it is challenging to find detailed information about it. Despite the limited data, its visible design features are quite intriguing.
POTD: Shooting The Stribog SP9A3G
I don’t know who came up with the font for the Slovakian Stribog SP9A3G logotype printed on the side, but I‘ve seen better. It’s still a pretty sharp pistol caliber carbine, and Stribogs have left pretty deep scars on owners of much more expensive and much more dedicated PCCs. Time for another Photo Of The Day, with a Slovakian touch, and some more information.
Concealed Carry Corner: Top 3 Items To Buy With Your First Carry Gun
Welcome to another edition of Concealed Carry Corner. Last week, we took a look at the minimum safe caliber for carrying concealed. There were some good debates going on in the comment section, so if you happened to miss that article, be sure to click the link here to catch up. This week, I wanted to take a look at some useful items that people don't often think about when purchasing their first handgun or consider when helping their significant others or family members with purchasing a gun. I cannot tell you how many times I see people only buy half the things they need to succeed, which results in them leaving their gun at home until they figure out what all they need to carry on a daily basis. Let's take a look at the top 3 Items to buy with your first carry gun.

SIG Sauer’s New TANGO-MSR Compact LPVO Riflescopes
So you’ve got a modern sporting rifle, and you want to see what’s beyond that red dot or those iron sights? But you’re not really interested in spending a lot of money? It seems SIG Sauer’s got you covered with their new TANGO-MSR Compact riflescopes. Measuring just 8.4" long and weighing 14.5 oz, it’s ideal for your kind of rifle. I don’t really use red dots on any of my rifle caliber firearms; I keep the red dots for pistol caliber firearms, but the final judgment may depend on what the purpose of the rifle or carbine is.
TFB Behind the Gun #178: Phillip w/ GAIM Virtual Shooting
You guys know I’ve been digging in deep with the virtual shooting stuff on the Meta Quest virtual reality headsets. A couple of months ago, I was approached by the folks from GAIM who asked if I’d like to try out their very own virtual simulator. Naturally, I had to accept to satiate my morbid curiosity, and I’m glad I did because in stark contrast to other virtual shooting simulators I’ve tried, this one breaks the mold in a number of ways. GAIM, with its European roots, has a heavy emphasis on training hunters and clay shooters like our guest today, Phillip, who brings a load of expertise to the table and has helped GAIM become what it is today. Today, Phillip is going to fill us in on all the neat little fine details that round out the GAIM software experience, combined with the extremely high-quality peripherals that come from actual firearms companies like Beretta, Arex, and more.
TFB Review: Jacob Grey TWC Hex 4.25” Ported 9mm
Jacob Grey first turned heads here on TFB back in 2023 when James Reeves affectionately stated rocket scientists are building their guns. This being somewhat true, Jacob Grey has been slowly growing a cult following for their magnificent 2011-style pistols that carry an equally magnificent price tag. Today, we are going to take a deep-dive look at another new model in the TWC Hex 4.25” Ported 9mm. Is this pistol clear for takeoff and meteoric success? Or, will it fail to clear the atmosphere? Let’s dive in!
POTD: LWRCI REPR MkII w/ Pulsar Thermion XL60 LRF & A-Tech Suppressor
LWRCI REPR MkII with a Pulsar Thermion XL60 LRF thermal riflescope and an A-Tech Marksman suppressor. The LWRCI is the Elite version, which came with a carbon fiber barrel from Proof Research. Because Olive Drab Green Cerakoted rifles are faster and better, that’s how I ordered mine, at a $165 surcharge.
Wheelgun Wednesday: Return Of The Raging Judge
One of the most notorious self-defense revolvers of the past couple of decades is back in production—in limited production—and it offers a lot of firepower in a hand-cannon package. The Taurus Raging Judge has returned to the lineup, offering your choice of a standard cowboy cartridge, a heavy-duty bear-buster, or a buckshot load.
EOTECH Acquires VK Integrated Systems
EOTECH has acquired VK Integrated Systems (VKIS), a Tennessee-based innovator in advanced weapon electronics and battlefield networking solutions. This strategic acquisition is described as a significant step in EOTECH’s mission to evolve into a vertically integrated, American-made defense platform, delivering cutting-edge situational awareness, data integration, and mission-ready systems for the modern warfighter.
Daniel Defense Pathfinder - Limited-Edition Frogskin Rifle
I don’t have a Daniel Defense, but a lot of my friends do and I see them on the range on a regular basis. I hear very few complaints, so it seems like they know how to build semi-autos. A few years back, as we evaluated some LPVO optics, we were shooting 55 grs at over 700 yards, with very confident hits with a DD.

[IDEF 2025] TISAS Begins Production of PKM Machine Gun in Turkey
The year 1969 had plenty of good stuff going on. The legendary Woodstock music festival, Apollo 11 moon landing… There were also lesser-known events like the premiere of the first episode of Sesame Street and the beginning of production for the PKM, the most mass-produced machine gun in recent history.
Daycraft Systems FMG 7.62 Lightweight Machine Gun
If you ever had to hump a M240B medium machine gun, tripod and ammunition to an objective to support an operation or movement, you would know why weight is important. Too many times during training, I've seen infantrymen “Chuck and Bury”, meaning ditching blank ammunition to reduce their weight they have to hump to an objective, big picture, not realizing this reduces their ability to support an operation or follow-on mission. Lightweight systems not only benefit the infantrymen, but they also help the taxpayer by reducing logistic costs.
POTD: German Schlegelmilch Prototype Repeater Pistol
For today’s Photo Of The Day, we have pictures of a handgun that almost looks AI-generated. However, it is a real firearm consigned to the upcoming August 2025 Rock Island Premier Firearms Auction. Designed by Louis Schlegelmilch circa 1891, this is an Imperial German prototype pistol. In addition to its rather interesting appearance, this pistol also has a quite unusual mechanism and features. It is an internal magazine-fed manual repeater with a side-moving breech block actuated by cocking the hammer, and it features a cleaning rod/screwdriver attached to the left side of the frame.

Welcome back to TFB’s Small Business Spotlight! In this series, we take a look at small firearm-related businesses. This week’s company is KynSHOT (KYNTEC Corporation), a firearms accessories manufacturer from Orchard Park, New York.
[IDEF 2025] UPM 200 Heavy Machine Gun From Kazakhstan
When people hear about Kazakhstan, there are a handful of things they remember. Sadly, some would only know about it from the movie “Borat”. Others would remember nomads, horses and boundless plains of Central Asia. Few know that the country is producing some of the most capable heavy machine guns in the world.
Steyr HS .50 M1: A Deep Dive Into Europe's Underrated 50 Caliber Rifle
When you think of a .50 caliber rifle, names like Barrett immediately come to mind. But nestled in the heart of Austria, a different fifty has been quietly earning its reputation for over two decades: the Steyr HS .50 M1. This rifle is a unique blend of accuracy, functionality, and military pedigree that's often overlooked. We recently got a hands-on look at this rifle with Steyr, and what we discovered was impressive.
Truck Guns, Part 2: The Stoner Legacy
When it comes to mobile firepower, few tools have stood the test of time like the AR-15. In the wake of the Global War on Terror (GWOT), the concept of the “truck gun” evolved out of necessity. Military personnel and security contractors required weapons that offered both close-quarters agility and extended-range efficiency — a tall order for any firearm. The legendary AR-15 is the platform that has not only met these challenges but exceeded them. Eugene Stoner would be proud.
POTD: U.S. Special Forces’ New Jet Board
Meet the Kraka Jet Board, a modular mobility platform that is easily set up for different tasks. The largest board loads 1000 kg, and the smallest 250 kg, perfect for Special Forces units and TFB’s Photo Of The Day. The Kraka significantly enhances a unit's ability to effectively execute operations across a diverse range of aquatic environments, including lakes, rivers, deltas, coastal "brown water" regions, swamps, and other restricted or confined waterways.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and all of its great guns, history, shooting sports, and, of course, ammunition! This week, we’re checking out a favorite of mine - CCI 22 Shot Shell. This miniaturized shotgun shell is primarily intended for close quarters pest control and over the years has been colloquially referred to as Rat Shot, Snake Shot, Bird Shot, or even Dust Shot. What you call this stuff is likely regionally tied to its most common use in your neck of the woods. Today, we’ll take a closer examination of the CCI 22 Shot Shell in the hopes of giving this underrated and often overlooked cartridge some extra love.

The optic plate is pistol-specific for Glock MOS, FN509, HK VP9, and IWI Masada pistols.
POTD: The Akdal MKA 1919 Shotgun
Going back in time almost 15 years, and the competition world was looking for an AR-style shotgun for 3-Gun and IPSC Shotgun. Enter the Akdal MKA 1919. A gas-operated, semi-automatic shotgun designed by Turkish company Akdal Arms, resembling the M16 rifle in appearance and control layout. It features a gas-operated action around a support tube beneath the barrel, with a return spring concealed by a polymer handguard.
Fudd Friday: Ithaca Is America's Old-School Pump Gun Manufacturer
There is no firearm more closely associated with American hunting than the pump-action shotgun. Like lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns are super-popular in the U.S. market and a much less common choice for hunters in Europe or other markets. But stateside, many hunters begin and end their career with a pump gun, and it’s been that way since the early 20th century. And in 2025, if I were going to pick one company as the definitive manufacturer of classic pump-actions, it would be Ithaca.
