Spotted: HK417/MR308 Sureshot Armament Group Ultralight MLOK Handguard

TFB recently wrote about the new SAG handguard – check the story here – and now we have the first pictures from users out in the wild.

These pictures were taken by Finnaccuracy at Finnsniper 2018.

The handguard is made out of T6061, and extruded and then CNC machined.

We are one of the few companies in the world who make HK417 \ MR308 \ MR762 lightweight foreends.
Our handguards are CNC from extrusion profile of T6061 Aluminium, ensuring low weight and high lateral strength.
With under 10 z per inch weight ratio our handguards are lightiest solution for HK417 \ MR308 \ MR762 available today.

SAG HK417 HANDGUARD is priced at €353 or €375 (about 440 USD) and the sand colored version has a small surcharge.

The new HK417/MR308 SAG Ultralight MLOK handguard is said to have more than 5 slots more than the Heckler & Koch original, yet it is almost 40% lighter. No Compromise, as they say…

The setup is a Steiner M5Xi 3-15 MSR on IEA KH-series QD mount, Hensoldt NSV600 NVG, and an Ase Utra bore-lock QD suppressor.

This squad has a pretty nice setup for short to medium to long range.

The 9.5″ rail is just 279 grams / 9.8 oz and the 15.5″ is just 389 grams / 13.7 oz.

Considering that the HK416 should be available in higher production numbers, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a version for it in the future. Note that that is purely speculation from my side.

I would certainly consider it for my HK MR223, and an MR308 if I had one. The HK417/MR308 is quite heavy, so any weight you can shave off will be appreciated.

You can get more details from Sureshot Armament directly. They are based in the Czech Republic and I suspect their products aren’t available in the USA.
