POTD: Swedish National Task Force in Black Esox – LWRC M6IC
A man may climb Everest for himself, but at the summit, he plants his country’s flag. In this Photo Of The Day, we have an operator from the Swedish National Task Force in the exercise Black Esox. Typically this unit uses the LWRC M6IC in Patriot Brown finish, with a 12.7″ barrel, Surefire suppressor, Magpul CTR stock, and Ergo 2 grip. Sometimes they use the LAW Tactical AR Folding Stock Adapter.
In addition to the Netherlands, intervention units from Iceland, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Germany and Italy also participated in this ATLAS exercise. Some units had brought their own helicopters and/or RHIBs (Rapid Inflatable boats). The exercise ‘Black Esox’ took place in the North Sea off the North Holland coast. The scenario was a tanker and ferry were hijacked and visitors were also held captive by terrorists.
Here’s an intense video from Black Esox, showing some of the capabilities of the European ATLAS network of special intervention units. You can see numerous national flags on these operators.

Cool to see LWRC abroad, especially with the 416 really having taken over the world.
RHIB stands for “Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat,” not “Rapid Inflatable Boat.”
