SIG SAUER has offered a service discount on many of their products for a number of years now. More than three dozen of their firearms models currently qualify for the Professional Program, including many P320 variants, some P365s, P226s, MCXs, and more. Special pricing on these guns can be accessed through SIG’s network of Master- and Elite-level dealers. Previously, in addition to actively serving law enforcement officers and other full-time first responders, the only US military personnel who qualified for the Professional program had to be actively serving or possessive of specific “retired” credentials. This policy excluded the vast majority of veterans who didn’t stay in the military long enough for this qualification, but this has now changed. Prior to this change, the only veterans who were eligible for the Professional Program had to be specifically retired from the military, which is more limited than being honorably discharged after a shorter period of service.
SIG SAUER Continues Expansion of SIG Professional program

NEWINGTON, N.H., (January 9, 2024) – On this day when we honor Law Enforcement Professionals and to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the P226, SIG SAUER is pleased to announce the continued expansion of the SIG Professional Program (SPP) to include all honorably discharged veterans.
“To celebrate the rich military and law enforcement history of the P226, we will kick-off the year by extending our appreciation to those that charted the pistol’s path to its place in history. How does the SIG Professional Program Work? The SIG Professional Program offers discounted pricing on select SIG SAUER firearms to those who protect and serve our country and our communities and is available at select retailers. With proper credentials, any qualifying active-duty military, retired military, and expanded veteran inclusion, along with law enforcement, or security professional can receive discounts on select popular SIG SAUER firearms. The program can be accessed through SIG Master and Elite Dealers, as well as select retailers in addition to the current SIG Law Enforcement Dealers. The SIG Professional Program is open to:
- Active-duty military with an active-duty identification
- Retired military with retired military credentials
- Honorably discharged veterans (requires DD214 or Veteran designation on state issued ID)
- Active reservists with military identification
- Active national guard with military identification
- Corrections officers (including parole and probation officers)
- Sworn law enforcement officers (including federal, state, county)
- Retired law enforcement officers with “retired” credentials
- Active or retired law enforcement with official agency credentials
- Court officers with official agency credentials or official documentation
- State / County / City Coroners with official agency credentials or official documentation
- Full time first responders with current credentials or official documentation
- EMTs, Firefighters, Volunteer Firefighters, and Paramedics.

About the SIG SAUER P226: SIG SAUER developed the P226 to compete in the U.S. Military’s XM9 service pistol trials. Even though it was not ultimately selected, the performance and capability of the P226 captured the attention of the elite U.S. Navy SEALs. They would officially adopt the P226 in 1989, and it would serve throughout the Global War on Terrorism as their official service pistol. The selection by the SEALs marks the beginning of a rich history between SIG SAUER and the U.S. military and the P226 became the cornerstone of several future successful partnerships to include the M17, M18, and the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program. According to the most recent VA and Census figures, there are approximately eighteen million US military veterans currently living. This expansion of SIG’s Professional Program will be welcome news to many of these vets, as a nice thanks for service to the country. If you qualify for the program and would like to participate as an honorably discharged veteran, just make sure you provide a copy of your form DD214 (it is recommended you black out your SSN on the form) or your official state-issued ID featuring a documented Veteran designation.
