Strike Industries is a prolific manufacturer of firearms parts and accessories. This Las Vegas-based company’s product catalog spans a huge array of components for ARs, AKs, CZ Scorpions, a variety of handguns, several shotguns, optics mounts, modular pistol chassis, and much more. One particular product category they’re proud of is their Cable Management System. With the significant proliferation of wired gun accessories like weapon lights and infrared laser aiming devices used with night vision, more shooters than ever have cables running across their handguards. Since plenty of buyers would prefer a more elegant solution to this issue than the old-school methods of tape or Ranger bands, quite a few companies have come out with cable management attachments that affix to Picatinny or M-LOK rails. However, it has now been announced that the SI version will be the one that the US Army has chosen for its NGSW program. Get more details in the press release copied below.

US Army Selects Strike Industries Cable Management System for Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) Program

Las Vegas, Nevada — Strike Industries is proud to announce that its Cable Management System® (CMS) has been selected by the United States Army for use in the Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) Program (in use beginning 2024). We are very excited and honored for the opportunity to contribute to the US Military. This significant achievement represents a milestone for our company and a testament to the quality and innovation of our products.

Our CMS is a meticulously crafted ecosystem in development since 2018. Engineered to solve the cable conundrum stemming from flashlights, lasers, and other weapon electronics, our CMS does more than just hold cables. It ingeniously stores excess cable within the weapon accessories and guides the cable’s direction seamlessly.

We have developed over 20 CMS products which include handguards, rail covers, vertical grips, angled grips, picatinny mounted, M-LOK mounted accessories, and several more parts. To date, Strike Industries has received multiple issued patents for these products with more patents pending.

Within our CMS product line, three products were chosen after a rigorous evaluation and selection process that included extensive testing which included other companies’ products as well — to ensure who would meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and security required by the US military:

    • Strike Multidirectional Picatinny Rail Cover w/ Cable Management
    • M-LOK Cable Management Covers (Long)
    • M-LOK Cable Management Covers (Short)

It isn’t stated how many competitor systems the Army tested, or from whom, but there are numerous options on the market. In addition to Strike, Magpul, Arson Machine Co., Forward Controls Design, and other companies offer solutions for unkempt weapon wiring. What systems or products have you tried? Do you use the Strike options, or something else? What do you like or dislike about the systems you’ve tested? Do you think the DoD has made a good choice with SI’s CMS, or do you think they should’ve gone with a different company? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below! See you at the range.
