POTD: Close Combat With Danish Frogman Corps (80s)

    Danish Frogman Corps

Welcome back to our Photo Of The Day! This image was posted on the Danish Frogman Corps Facebook page, with a caption saying “Close Combat with the Frømandkorpset” and an indication that the image was from the 1980s. Time flies, that’s over 40 years ago!

The Danish Frogman Corps, known as Frømandskorpset in Danish, serves as the maritime special operations force within the Danish Armed Forces, operating under the umbrella of the Special Operations Command. Established on June 17, 1957, the Frogman Corps draws inspiration from specialized units such as the United Kingdom’s Special Boat Service, the US Underwater Demolition Team, and Norway’s Marinejegerkommandoen. Think of them as a kind of Danish Navy Seals.

If you’re looking for a career within the Danish Frogman Corps you can check this link. Perhaps you get to perform similar training as described in the photo?

If you liked this image, you have to check out the German Kampfschwimmer (1970). Not sure which one I like best.
