Clone nerds, rejoice! Nightforce has released a limited batch of SOCOM contract ATACR scopes with all of the accouterments. Two different models (S-VPS and P-VPS) are available at retailers now.

    Nightforce @ TFB:

First up is the Squad Variable Power Scope, or S-VPS. This first focal plane ATACR 1-8×24 includes the otherwise-unreleased TREMOR8 Reticle. A full accessory pack comes with the scope including lens caps, an Ultramount, and Magpul backup iron sights.

The other member of the family is the Precision Variable Power Scope or P-VPS. It is an ATACR 7-35×56 with a first focal plane TREMOR3 reticle. Like the S-VPS, the P-VPS includes the appropriate Ultramount, but with an added railed accessory platform. Both scopes included hard cases and a full suite of documentation.

Now for the painful part: the price. The S-VPS is $4,535 and the P-VPS retails for $5,890. Both are in stock at select retailers including Mile High Shooting and EuroOptic. Nightforce is only releasing 300 units of each scope, so the opportunity to buy one may not last for long.

    From the manufacturer:

The MIL-SPEC line of scopes are adapted versions of the proven ATACR family. Nightforce MIL-SPEC riflescopes undergo additional testing to ensure that they will perform reliably, repeatedly, and without fail, when combat conditions are at their worst.

This is a limited production run of 300 units of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Squad Variable Power Scope (S-VPS), which is part of the Miniature Aiming Systems-Day Optic (MAS-D) program. This kit includes a MIL-SPEC ATACR 1-8x24mm F1 with Horus TREMOR8 Reticle and includes the accompanying accessories, mounting kit, tools, and manuals all in the commemorative hard case.
