Expanding their BRN product family, Brownells have released a new line of AR-15 upper receiver assemblies called BRN-15. These uppers are chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and are available in three barrel length options – 16″, 13.7″ and 11.5″. The actual upper receivers of Brownells BRN-15 upper assemblies are made of 7075-T6 aluminum forgings and have a hard coat anodized finish. The 4150 CMV barrels are nitrided, have a 1:7″ twist rate and come with A2 style flash hiders installed on the 1/2×28 muzzle threads. The barrel extensions and upper receivers have M4 pattern feed ramps. The 16″ barreled BRN-15 uppers can be ordered with Government contour barrels that have .750″ diameter gas block journals or Lightweight contour barrels with .625″ gas blocks. The 11.5″ and 13.7″ barrels are available in Government contour only. The aluminum free-floated M-LOK handguards are clamped onto barrel nuts with two screws and have rear anti-rotation tabs that engage the upper receiver.
Brownells BRN-15 uppers are available with or without bolt carrier groups and charging handles. The prices of BRN-15 uppers without BCGs and charging handles vary from $349.99 to $369.99 depending on the barrel length choice. The BRN-15 uppers that come with Brownells BCGs and charging handles cost $399.99. All Brownells BRN-15 uppers are made in the USA.
