Budget Upgrade: The MDT Field Stock

MDT Sporting Goods have announced the official release of their entry-level Field Stock that was teased at SHOT 2023. With an MSRP of just $299.95, the MDT Field Stock is the most affordable stock/chassis currently offered by the company. Let’s see what features MDT packed in this budget stock.

The MDT Field Stock is constructed with a 6061 aluminum core and an over-molded polymer body. It features a v-block bedding system and allows free floating barrels of up to 1.25” in diameter. The Field Stock has a spacer-adjustable length of pull and quick adjustable cheek piece that can be raised by up to 1.37″. The stock comes with two sling swivel studs installed. The handguard features M-LOK slots on the sides and bottom. The Field Stock is compatible with AICS pattern detachable box magazines and has an ambidextrous paddle magazine release. The overall length of this stock is 32.22” and it weighs 3.1 lbs.

As mentioned above, the MSRP of MDT Field Stock is $299.95. It is available in black and FDE color options. Currently, the MDT Field Stock is available for Remington 700 SA footprint barreled actions only but more footprints are in the works and will be released soon.

    It looks like it is to compete with the KRG Bravo.

    I want to see if the offer this for Howa. That might make a good budget combo

    Seems like a nice budget option, this was actually shown at SHOT in 2022 as an Oryx product (made by MDT at the time).

    It would be interesting to see how much metal is under the overmold. They mention a 6061 core, but does that extend the full length of the stock and forearm. Pics make it look like the metal core might not extend through the forearm. Is the trigger guard, mag release, etc. all plastic, metal etc.

    3.1lbs is pretty light, and the price is right, so should be a really nice budget upgrade to factory rifles as an upgrade.
