Edelweiss Arms Imports 10-round K31 Magazines -The Firearm Blog

Edelweiss Arms specializes in importing cool and expensive foreign guns, generally of Swiss origin. They also now import a new production 10-round magazine for the legendary K31 rifle. This is a major upgrade from the standard 6-round magazine historically used in that rifle.

Many people regard the K31 as one of the finest surplus military rifles available. Its straight-pull bolt is fairly unique, and it has a reputation for above-average accuracy. The 7.5×55 Swiss cartridge is no slouch and is comparable to the .308 Winchester. Moving from six rounds to ten rounds is a great quality-of-life upgrade for shooters who still use these rifles.

The 10-round magazine is made from stainless steel with a PVD coating. It also adds numbered witness holes on the rear (facing the shooter), which were not present in the original magazine. It retails for $169 and is in stock at Edelweiss now.

Weighing in at a mere 169g, this magazine adds only 26 grams to the weight of the original 6-round magazine. With a height of 84.8mm, it is just 25.2mm longer – exactly the height of two additional rows of cartridges.

Every gram and every millimeter has been carefully considered. The assembly system is borrowed from the proven Fass57 magazines (inverted at 180°), ensuring reliable performance. Disassembly requires no tools other than a Swiss army knife.

Constructed with stainless steel, except for the polymer elevator plate, this magazine is built to withstand the demands of the field. The PVD surface treatment enhances durability, making the magazine resistant to shocks and abrasion.
