Welcome to TFB’s Photo Of The Day! Today’s selection features a lot of snow and cold, and a furry beast. In terms of firearms, we have the Heckler & Koch HK416N, the SA80 in full winter camouflage and most likely an M4 carbine.

Training to defend Norway
20,000 NATO troops, plus and Sweden, have been taking part in the largest military exercises in Europe’s Arctic this year
During exercises Joint Viking and Warrior, land, sea and air forces from the ten nation Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) have been training to defend Norway. JEF is a group of like-minded Northern European nations focused on mutual support and cooperation
Around 50 aircraft and 40 vessels were involved, with troops from hosts Norway joined by those from Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the USA.

Below: Snipers from 2nd Battalion The Parachute Regiment moving across open ground during Exercise Joint Viking. Typically they now use the Barrett MRAD chambered in .338 Lapua Magnum, or the Heckler & Koch HK417.
