Shield Arms Now Shipping S15 Magazine +2 Extension

Shield Arms shook up the concealed carry scene with their 15-round flush-fit Glock 43X/48 magazines. They have continued to improve that design and to add new accessories. The newest optional upgrade is a +2 extension for the S15 magazines.

Shield Arms @ TFB:

Magazine extensions are a logical upgrade for a magazine manufacturer, and this is not the first extender in Shield’s lineup. They already offer a +5 for the S15. The +2 version is much shorter but still allows Glock 17 capacity in a slimline package.

One important note is that these extensions do not work on all S15 mags. They are only compatible with Gen 2 and Gen 3 models. However, the +5 version works with all generations.

Each +2 extension includes a new floor plate, extension, and spring. The magazine spring is longer than the standard spring, with 11 coils instead of the standard 10. If you don’t want to install this extension, Shield sells S15 magazines with the +2 extender already installed (coming soon).

The +2 extension retails for $34.99, and black versions are in stock as of the time of writing. Shield Arms has plans for a wide range of other colors, including red, blue, green, and gold. Those other colors are not yet available but look for them coming soon.

From the manufacturer:

The Shield Arms S15 Magazine Extension adds 2 rounds to your S15 magazine. Our unique, easy access floor plate design allows you to quickly access the spring and follower without having to remove the extension from the magazine body. Comes with a 100% lifetime warranty, and the Shield Arms Spring for Life guarantee.

This is getting pretty silly, but who am I to tell people what to do with their money? I already rolled my eyes a bit at the S15 mags being such a desired product, but now we're taking it a step further with buying an additional modification for your aftermarket magazines that only work after you buy an aftermarket mag catch, just to solve a problem that never existed in the first place.

I don't see myself forking over even more money to shield arms, especially not at that price point.
But I need to know: how does the overall size for one of these in a g43x compare to the sig p365 xmacro with the 17 round mag inserted?
If the overall height was shorter on a g43x I'd be sorely tempted to buy one.
