Samson Manufacturing has released a product they debuted at SHOT Show earlier this year, their M-Lok AK-47 K-Rail.

New Hampshire-based Samson Manufacturing produces a healthy list of firearms components and accessories. While the AR-15 features strongly in their lineup, with a variety of handguards, iron sights, and more on offer for it, their catalog touches plenty of other firearm types as well. From folding stocks for Ruger 10/22s and Mini-14s to rails for MP5 clones, to comps for pistols and PCCs, there’s a little bit of something for nearly everyone. AK shooters are no exception, with a smattering of sight rails and other parts available, and now the company has added a new Kalashnikov offering to their arsenal, if you’re into modernizing Mikhail’s classic design. Get the details on their new AK-47 M-LOK handguard in the press release below.

While some shooters will most likely argue that AKs should remain classic and unmolested, there definitely seems to be a growing subset of Kalashnikov fans who increasingly enjoy modernization options, such as this one. Which camp do you fall in? Are you a cloner purist, an all-wood furniture diehard? Or do you like the idea of bringing Mikhail’s creation more on par with the AR’s modularity and accessory-mounting flexibility? Do you want a better ability to mount lights, lasers, foregrips, and other accessories on your AKs in a similar fashion to your ARs? Will you be giving this new rail a try? What do you like or dislike about the idea? Let us know what you think in the comments below! See you at the range.
