Yet another cartridge which has so much power that it only comes into its own at distances that most folks outside keyboard commandos can't shoot in the real world without a bench and stupidly big rifle, glass, and recoil. We have departed so far from reality that I read an article today on the PRC cartridges which declared that a 7mm PRC with like a 180gr bullet at 3000fps was mild recoil. I'm sorry, what? In what world? One with 25lbs hunting rifles that all have muzzle brakes?
Unpopular position: If you are shooting at game at distances great enough to require this cartridge, it's kind of hard to argue that you're hunting... it's something else entirely. Why folks feel the need to use cartridges so big they shoot heavy bullets at varmint velocities is beyond me. If you can't do the job with the 308/30-06 family of cartridge sizes (243 to 35 Whelen) you probably shouldn't be taking that shot.

@Daekar Absolutely agree with you for hunting. I think the PRCs are made specifically for long distance target competitions, though. I personally prefer milder cartridges, but if I wanted to shoot UKD targets at beyond a kilometer, a magnum cartridge of some sort would possibly make sense.

I'm only listening if they tell me more about the leather patch on the grip of the stock.
